    BFW Trent fish in.

I arrived yesterday in pouring rain to be met by Chris Pearson who walked the banks giving insight into the stretch being fished. There was already a dozen or more anglers on the bank and I did not stand around as it was just too wet. I chose a swim that gave reasonable access to the waters...

    Weighmaster scales

I would suggest they are the least reliable of the scales in popular use. I have checked several and found large errors. All scales can show faults but check these before use. Buy any product in the supermarket that will be weighed [veg or fruit] and the correct weight will be shown. This...

    Compact camera with infrared remote

I've recently changed from a G6 and would recomend it to any angler as one of the best for self take. No, you cannot continuous shot via the remote but you can fire as many shots as you like, one after another. you have 2 custom settings, I had one set for the normal speci shot of a fish...

    tench fishing

Graham - Until this season I have mainly gone in with caster/maggot over hemp approach for my tench, this year there are lots of 1lb 2lb type green monsters showing so I've changed to big boilies. I do feel that my fishing is very close to carp fishing but once you put a bait out into a mixed...

    Vitalin

It's pet food so any reasonable pet shop will either have it, or be able to get for you. Very good as groundbait but even better if you put it through a blender first. Great binding quality but be careful how much water you use, a little goes a long way and you can always add more.

    Hampton Loade meeting

I attended the getogther and it proved to be a very good meeting. with good weather it allowed plenty of social time - with 'bait and wait' methods you are not fixed to rods all day. Not many fish caught by the near 30 anglers attending but that was expected. Best barbel went near 8lb and...

    Front page barbel

Now that is a great fish at any time, but in Febuary - well. One I would definately like to see on the bank but yet to get any double off the Lea.

    Doubles?

Reading 'The Fighting Barbel' there is no mention of the term - anglers refered directly to the weight not the general term we tend to use.

    Doubles?

Having sat through two blizzards yesterday I am sitting at the pc browsing nothing. Just a thought for those historians out there with a good book collection I pose the question, " when did double figure fish first get the title of a double?" Let's see who can get the earliest reference.
