I have a Cotswold Aquarius Roamer, and have had for the last 10 years. Fantastic design, extremely well built and i can also loop my chair through the detachable straps like the Korum to make carrying easier. Not cheap, but confident that i will get another 10 years out of mine.

Personally, I would look at an inline feeder, no gum etc. and a slightly thicker gauge hook. Reduce feeder bounce as much as possible and you should be in business.

Undoubtedly sight is the lesser of their senses when it comes to feeding.

What weight of feeder, and set up of terminal tackle are you using?

I often use double 18mm baits with size 4/5 hooks on some of the more tidal areas of the Trent, but do tend to fish predominantly evening or overnight sessions. Many of my better fish have come in low, clear summer cons.

Wooden balls predrilled and soaked in any number of flavours, and a stiffish hooklink is your best bet.

I will probably get another pair if they come up at the right price, at the right time. :) Use mine on the tidal Trent for barbel, zander, pike and everything in between.

I wouldn't swap my original twin tip Neoterics for any other rod out there to be honest. Love them to bits. If you can find a pair - buy them!

I have fished the tidal Trent for years, and been through all manner of alarms (through preference rather than necessity). I am currently using Nash R3s and have to say, they have been fantastic. The 'false bleep elimination' has proved excellent, and with the amount of weed and detritus...

I made the switch from Drennan SS over to Kamasan Barbel Maxx a few years back and have been very happy, never having one fail and I fish some extremely rocky areas of the tidal Trent.
