As far as I’m aware the big foreign carp have stopped, but fish are often still stocked at 20-30lb. For the best part carp are all stocked at some point so I guess it’s where our ethics lie. I don’t know what the stocking levels are like in this place but for me it’s the sanitised nature of it...
Another thought on the quiver section. You could fish for chub all the time without one, 2oz lead, bolt rig and hair rigged bait, which can be ruthlessly effective. Although, if you want to use a maggot feeder or light ledgering with bread or something then you will miss a lot of bites if not...
Hi Mark
I haven't used the rod but one way to look at the comparison with another rod that has an additional section is that, for the price you could assume that the DV has had more money put in to the blank. Just a thought, as whether that's true or not I don't know.
Finally pulled myself together and gave this ago yesterday, using the video above. I some success, not every time but enough for some encouragement.
One thing I noted in Richard's video is that he mentions dropping the float then starting the spool spinning. I watched another video with Martin...
Go on, how many? 😂
I think I am just about ok but bordering on a problem. I could get rid of a handful of rods I reckon and I might do, although not keen to make any rash decisions as not doubt would lose money on them.
Someone asked why I didn't go sea fishing the other day, there's no way...
I've never had any problems with it and use it in 3,4 and 6lbs.
The talk of the drennan camo xt and the gardener hydroFLO has got me wondering though, aside from the spools what are those two lines offering that the sensor doesn't?
I haven't any experience of the above but I'd be tempted to search out a second hand pair of the older Daiwa Powermesh. Like you I wouldn't fancy the seaguides and I've just always liked those older Powermeshs.
That was it Joe, thank you. Must be 10 years since I went but it had a nice feel to it in the mid winter, I remember having a 4lb ish chub on bread and that being my only bite of the day.
Good evening all
I would like to go for a days trotting on the Hampshire Avon with my dad at some point.
Please could someone be kind enough to recommend a day ticket stretch that has reasonable access for someone with creaky knees and somewhere that would make us feel like we'd come to...
I lost what I'm 99% sure was a massive barbel on the Thames, 14 years ago in September. Not sure I'll ever get over that unless I catch the barbel of a lifetime.
