Don't you go ruining my Salmon fishing! we've got enough problems with seals and fish farms as it is. Dump them on the Trent those boys have plenty of fish to go around, they won't miss the odd double disappearing here and there!;)
Thanks Joe,
While I don't argue that the insecticide issue is a bit of an unknown at present, and certainly has the potential to decimate the fish population of a river. I would argue that general pollution in our waters, particularly since the collapse of heavy industry and improvements in...
I too would like to understand how any of the wealth of non lethal options would make any difference. Unless we are sticking them all on a carriage at St.Pancras with a one way ticket through the tunnel, or we are placing them all into an induced coma? Sterilization would be my only suggestion...
Any Joy Stephen?
I have had a bash on the lower stour and Christchurch key for nought (fortunately I had all the gear anyway from my days as a Sydney 'brim' fisherman). have to say I found it a little tedious, think I will just take small jigs next time such as the smaller sized fish black...
Yeah the cadence range get great reviews however for the price I may as well go with a Drennan match pro or IM9 (for 30-40 more could just forget it all and get an acolyte) and then I have the tried and tested brand behind me.
I was thinking about evaluating the sub 100 competition before...
Chaps, hopefully this doesn't constitute a hijack as I think the OP is satisfied. I am looking for a 15ft plus rod for trotting the far bank of the Stour and just generally for the wider parts of the Avon (sticks and waggler) as I am struggling a little with the pin and 13fter for the far bank...
unfortunately the electric floats I have seen (or have been posted on this thread) are all either too small to livebait with (a 2-4oz roach would pull them under) or too big ie made with piking in mind and I would worry about perch feeling the resistance and aborting the run. Large Drennan...
Perfect for one float, the issue is I often fish with two live bait float paternosters or one float paternoster and one free roving live bait which can make the head torch quite tricky.
I have just ordered some bulk chemical lights off the auction site so will be persisting with this method...
Yup okay thanks all...looks like its back to the loafer, electrical tape, and starlight for me then. Just thought it may be interesting to see if anyone had a silver bullet in their locker!
Thanks for the warning Anthony, exactly the sort of info I'm after...I fear the tape may be equally as ineffective... maybe okay for about 5mins after headlamp charging but would be keen to know if its bright enough generally...
Oh and thanks for moving Paul much appreciated.
Yeah as mentioned before though I am constantly forgetting to top the bag up with fresh ones, I was thinking more along the lines of a permanent modification to a loafer so I don't have to worry about it anymore.
Sorry just realised I've posted this on the wrong forum, meant to put it on other...
After missing a take perch fishing this evening as I couldn't see my float anymore and had (as always) forgotten to throw some more starlights in the bag I thought to myself 'there has got to be a better way'. So, aside from attaching a £7 isotope to the float, does anyone have any decent tips...
