    Bream and barbel?

I think it's pretty much a given that Bream and Barbel will occupy the same swim. The problem though is that when you start hauling the Bream out you are likely to spook the Barbel. The trick is to be able to keep a hookbait out there without catching the Bream.

    Feeder Mixes

Nice and simple, 1/3 fishmeal, 1/3 ground hemp, 1/3 of whatever ground pellet I'm using on the hook. When mixed with an egg makes a reasonable paste wrap too. Bit like John, looking to attract and not feed.

    Bowsfishing carp.

As a Carp angler who has moved over to the USA I have to say that I have very little problem with it. Although I would prefer that they didn't do it as they tend to target the larger fish, you have to accept that it is the culture here as much as hunting for Deer or Turkey is. As stated by...

    Typical bloody minded canoeist?

Somebody needs to leave some comments against the video to set the record straight.

    Bike fishing.

Hiya Dunc, used a bike to go fishing for years when I was younger as did Pete. The only thing I would bother clipping to the bike are your rods (not made up) and landing net pole. Get yourself a decent rucksack for everything else and travel light, we used to use a creel rather than a rucksack...

We have had hair length, what are your thoughts on rig length?

Really depends on how I'm fishing. As a few examples of my thinking... If I'm on the lead over a baited area or using bags then probably about 18in, coated braid with the last couple of inches stripped. I'm expecting the hookbait to be in amongst the free offering so don't often feel the need...

    Hair length??

Nice one Andrew, your picture is more or less exactly what I was trying to describe if you took away the second piece of silicon. Never tried having it come away inline with the point like that. Mike, I think you have me confused with somebody else, I'm not that Paul Garner.

    Hair length??

I'm kind of with Graham on this in that I will use a hair long enough for the bait to sit off the bend of the hook or just below. I will also use a small piece of silicon tubing to hold the hair in place. That way I know that at all times the bait is exactly where I want it in relation to bend...

    Robin red anybody?

Only been here a couple of weeks but will be fishing for Carp mainly, commons and grass. Plus Red Drum when I get down to the coast. Always been a big fan of Robin Red in the UK and used to use the Waka boilies for both Barbel and Carp.

    Robin red anybody?

Not anymore Dave, but if I sourced any over here I'd probably need to order a fair bit to make it worthwhile which means it will be around for a while.

    Robin red anybody?

Anybody know what the shelf life on this particualr ingredient would be? Thanks Paul

Goodbye and thanks for the fish

Although I haven't posted much on these boards over the last couple of years I would like to thank Andy & Clair for putting up with me for so many years. Also people like Graham and Rayo for the excellent fishin's. I'll be leaving these shores in the next couple of days and the Barbel will be...

    Swingtip?

Crikey Paul, still got a Persuader in the loft. Lovely rod in it's day. Had a spare tip cut back and a 3oz solid glass quiver spiced in for a flooded Warks Avon then realised it made an excellent Barbel rod :). Cheers Paul

Keith, just reward for the effort you've put in when many of us have stayed at home. Nice fishing mate.

    Carp method feeder advice

Rather than Leadcore use a length of anchor tubing above the method feeder, the whole lot will slide off the line then if you're unlucky enough to get a break. You can thread the bottom of the anchor tubing into the tail rubber of the method feeder to keep it in place. You can can safely fish...

    Lower Benyons mass canoe invasion

You miss the point, I am no expert on this but I would imagine that they must surely be breaking some law if they ignore your requests to leave the land and launch without permission? Then again I might be talking row locks but would be interested if anybody knows the position on this?

    Lower Benyons mass canoe invasion

The issue as I understand it is not so much one of navigation but of permission to launch. Effectively, if they take the canoe out of the water to navigate a weir for instance then do they have the right to re-launch it below the weir? Or should you make the ****ers get orf your land and carry...
