Anyone got them in there garden pond,,do they make a difference to sludge ,sediment on the bottom ?

Wondered if popping-up bait or suspending bait 18"off bottom might be a way to induce more positive take ?
Wobbling normally good but not sure they wanted to chase a bait ?
Interesting,,I did gently tug on one of them and that did produce movement that had to be struck at, so maybe I will do that in future as leaving too long is a little unnerving, deep hooking etc.
Fished 10ft from the bank in slack 5ft deep on a large river other day, so right under the rod tip.
Had loads of takes using simple ledgered running rig with 1/2 mackeral, tail.
Couldnt get a bite on a mackeral head ??

Yes I think it might be a salmon/fly rod.
Very long,bit of a beast and reel seat close to the end.
My Uncle who used it for mackeral fishing only had the one rod ,he used it for everything. I remember him launching a lead from Seaton beach an unbelievable...
I have a split cane 4 piece rod which used to belong to my great grandfather.
It is damaged ,in a very sorry state and totally unusable.
My uncle used it mackeral fishing once I recall !:rolleyes:

They were introduced a few years ago to some wetlands in far away Kent as a project.
From the pictures shown they really do not add anything to the ambiance of the bank side,,felled trees,branches,debris.
It was said they only build dams if water levels drop and that they do benefit a few...
Just got one of those Bison ones.
Very light, seems comfortable enough,loads of room ,zips prob wont last that long but reasonably heavy duty canvas with waterproof inner lining.
Can sit with bag to the side or in front/behind,
Less than £20 ,for the amount I will use it really good value.

Got some old rig tubing which I dug out other night ,prob 8 years old,slightest pull it broke,so no good for abrasion resistance but prob ideal for threading thro meat.
