That would all depend on the storage conditions its kept in and whether its active or inactive. Kept cool (ideally in a fridge) it should last longer than stated.

There are baits and then there are baits. Obviously there is no magic bait otherwise we would all be using it! The fact is that certain baits do and always will continue to out perform others for various reasons but the actual quality of the base mix is the critical factor imo.
Although I now have my own bait company and use those baits exclusively in the past I've used Nutrabaits Trigga, BFW B8, and DT Baits Pukka Fish & Oily Chicken. PF & OC was awesome!
I highly recommend Transglobalexpress. They are excellent. I recently sent a rod through them and typed the wrong postcode in (doh!) and their customer service was brilliant about it and changed it for me straight away. Best I've used.
Maybe you just had a bad batch? Been using it for years now in very snag infested swims and for big river carp. Never had any issues but once you lose confidence in something then you never use it again.
Shimano Technium Black is awesome stuff! No memory whatsoever and is a dream to use. Its like a cross between a mono and braid because of the coating on it and is as tough as they come. Bass Pro Excel is also another one of my favourites but very hard to come by these days in this country.
