Recommendations sought: Float Rod for trotting for Roach & Chub

As a Hampshire Avon regular I favour the Drennan Acolyte Ultra 15' for roach and the Drennan Acolyte plus 14' for chub. If you are targeting both species opt for the Plus if you can only afford one

An October morning from about 10 years a go. I'm sure one or two of you will recognise the famous venue.

    Canal Carp Advice

Think youve answered your own question partially. The first place I would focus on would be where you saw the fish. I used to do a bit of carping on the B'ham/Worcs canal early 80s and the carp were always in the same spots.

    Obsessed

On the issue of security Im sure that most of you, like me, have a number of locks on your garages or sheds but please remember to fit window locks where appropriate. Probably the quickest, easiest and quietest way of getting access to your gear.

    Fishing chair

Hi Chris, Thank you for the recommendation. Clearly a light chair but the back still looks like it's tilted backwards; is that correct? I can't see any adjustment on the back rest.

    Fishing chair

Gents, looking for a recommendation please. I suffer from a dodgy back and find the angle of chair backs awful being inclined backwards. I'm looking for a lightweight chair with as straight a back as possible or one that can be adjusted up so that it's approximately 90 degrees to the seat...

    Dead baiting.

Just to add to the general discussion, and re-enforce a couple of points please, please go with somebody who knows what they are doing for your first half a dozen pike sessions. When dead baiting rivers I find they will often take the bait very quickly. As Graham implied, at the first signs of...

I use their gripper leads and have been delighted with them. You'll get them for nearly half that price on line

    Short break fishing trip

For several years myself and 2 old school friends meet up each year for a weekends fishing at Lemington Lakes in Moreton on Marsh. This year they have changed the arrangements and you now have to stay on site and the price is extortionate. Can anybody recommend a venue for our trip this year...

    River pike

Goes without saying George, if you do get snagged up be very careful when trying to pull clear. There could be an awful lot of hook points heading in your direction!
