    Bird ID

Guys, can any of you really me what this bird is please? Guy fishing near me said buzzard but I'm pretty sure it isn't. It's back was mottled pale brown and white and it had a white belly. I've attached three images as, although at distance, they show the bird from the back, swivelling its...

Fantastic pic as always Dave. Had the, "pleasure" of meeting those three swans Tuesday evening. Even by Swan standards they must of been three of the most stupid. I was swim hoping on the opposite bank to yours and I was continually having to reel in as each time they spotted me they...

    Frozen deadbaits

https://www.onlinebaitsuk.co.uk/ That's who I use for small roach zander baits. If I'm piking it's straight into Waitrose for a bag of their frozen sardines - A1

    Zander

An enjoyable visit to the Warks Avon at the weekend. Struggled on Friday with just a 4lb zander. Change of venue on Saturday resulting in five pike including three doubles to 14:12, two zander to 7:05

    Tackle for sale

Sometimes a change is as good as a rest. Had a friend who got bogged down in pursing large pike. He lost his mojo but I persuaded him to return to basics and try trotting a float down a river. He is loving it and it's been a great diversion for him.

your reasoning for your leader length and material?

Boilies or pellets in normal conditions, 2' of 30lb braid. Meat or paste in coloured water 12" 30lb braid. Both with 30lb braid main line. Rod tips as low to the water as possible, back lead where possible.

    Flood Conditions...

The only two conclusions I have drawn from barbel fishing late autumn and winter on both the Dorset Stour and Hants Avon are fish a swim that contains fish and fish on a rising water temp.

    Milk proteins

Fantastic result Dan. Really pleased for you. Just one comment to add to the debate. Stop thinking like a human. If you have faith in JBs baits and flavours consider blending them. Try 1.5mls of Frost and Flood with something like 1.5mls of chicken Tikka

Anyone had any scary/paranormal experiences on the bank?

Not boring me one bit Matt, please keep them coming.

    Cheesepaste Too Stiff

I would buy some soft blue like Danish Blue or Saint Agur and add it until you get the right consistency

    Wintering chubbing

All good advice above. If I'm trotting I tend to use mags. Catapult out three big pults full into the chosen swims (preferably a far bank tree line). Then continue to fire out a couple of dozen mags every 4mins or so. Keep doing this for half hr then cut back to half a dozen/dozen mags for...
