Good Morning,
Bit of an update from me. I didn't get anywhere with the EA, AT etc. No one.was prepared to say anything other than it was an oxygen crash and as that's the official line as it were there'll be no investigation. Despite it being in the national and local press. It got a lot of...
I've spoken to the EA myself at length.
The length of river affected is 30km from rugby to Stratford.
The areas with higher populations/road traffic and the river being small have been heavier hit due to higher ground pollution being washed in. He has said the last alarm to go off for them...
I've had it confirmed the EA have said it's a natural occurrence due to road run off 😡🤬
Despite independent water tests showing lethal levels of ammonia with nitrates and nitrites off the scale at Warwick castle and The Saxon Mill. The oxygen tests have shown no issue with oxygen levels...
Morning Gents,
As some of may know I run a syndicate on the upper Avon.
I went this morning before work and it was a scene of complete devastation. Thousands of fish lining the banks, barbel into double figures, big perch, roach, bleak, dace, chub. I've taken videos and pics and forwarded them...
Hi John,
I have 2 X 9 foot 1.75's. Hardly used them, seen the bank maybe 3 times and that's been my boy using them for commercial carp while I was teaching him.
Only issue is mice have had a go at the cork handles, not terminal but means otherwise immaculate rods aren't anymore.
I can sort...
A Wintery few hours on the Warks Avon yesterday in-between school runs. It was still minus 10 at 10am! Worth the effort with a plump mid double gracing my net. Lovely morning to be out.
Have a look at the Gardner Pro Blend or GT HD, both are a copolymer line that is pre-stretched. They are low stretch and very strong, I've used the Pro Blend light in 12lb and 15lb for a very long time and always found it to perform very well.
Thanks
Lewis
Morning,
There is a lot of content on YouTube for the barbel angler these days and it is often hard to find anything that's worth watching thats new.
I came across this last night and thought it was worth sharing, definitely worth a watch with a Sunday morning brew. Had me in the opening...
I've been a Gardner user for many years.
Their Talon Tip wide gapes are exceptional hooks. The size 10's are a great size for a lot of different hookbaits from maggots to 15mm boilies. Anything bigger I'll use a size 8 and big meat a size 2.
The thick wire gauge doesn't impede sharpness or...
I'd echo what Cliff said about simple pellet feeder tactics however don't discount meat. I've fished Wye Lea a lot over the years and this time of year fish pellet/groundbait feeder and move every hour if bites aren't forthcoming. Safe in the knowledge that as I've had a few casts in each swim I...
Afternoon Ladies and Gents,
It's been a few years since I posted on here, I've always lurked in the background as it were as it's a really good community on here. I really should get more involved as I enjoy reading some of the stories and reports on here about tackle and sessions etc.
Id...
