Definately rescue the 10' 6" Vortex that my dad bought me in approx 1975 for 4 quid. Bends like an elastic band, not been used for at least 40 years but priceless to me. Apart from that, my Drennan IM9 Classic 😁

Be interested to hear how you get on with the Spectron as I've recently got one. My go to 'fish for anything' trotting rod has been the Drennan IM9 Classic for many years..........best rod I've probably ever owned but the extra foot on the Diawa could help. Roll on the Autumn 😁

I had the Nash mini sides on a nubrolli. Think they just covered 2 ribs but served me very well doing overnighters on my flashy (then) Lafuma bedchair 😁

Last season was pretty successful, beating my Loddon target of 10 barbel. Want to double that this season, hopefully add a 17+ too. Lost a big long 25+ river common after a long fight so would love to have another chance at that. Barbel from the Blackwater after a break of a few years, any size...

In some way I feel quite lucky that the rivers I fish have hardly any barbel left which equates to far fewer anglers. Can't imagine booking swims....... Give me a small, overgrown river anytime (preferably without the smell of skunk 😁) Steve

Mine has to be the last swim on Upper Benyons on the Kennet. Early 90's when there was no fishing on the opposite bank, big downstream overhanging willow.......rolling meet into the roots.....and Bang! Steve

I've been given a very good price for skrettings coarse pellets from my local animal feed place. I've asked him to find out how much the Halibuts are. Not sure there is much or any difference in price??
