If you really want budget have a look at THESE if they turn out crap you can hardly moan about the price. I reckon a tin of luncheon meat will soon be more than that!
I like the BT hooks for big baits but I don't think you can beat the Drennan super spades or specialists for maggot/castor/smaller baits for targeting big fish. My PB barbel fell to a bunch of maggots on a drennan ss size 14
Horses for courses!
Thanks Bill. I know I can go south and fish linear on ticket for a good chance but joining the club does have a certain appeal, strongly considering it. I'll make a definite decision come spring, I do have a campaign planned on my syndi' now that all other activities have been aborted, mainly...
Is there a northern region Bill, I've just been having a browse on the website but couldn't make out where the regions are? I need a kick up the arse with my fishing and I'm determined to get a double figure tinca this year. My syndi' which I re-joined last year (but failed to fish) could...
A trait I'm aware of that can be countered by a small amount of lead and araldite in the end of the butt. I did a dry run with mine and a small amount it wasn't. I forgot to mention the over engineering includes a really short handle (to enable passing the rod across the body between hands, god...

Would you (or anyone else) happen to know how the Shimano compares to the Drennan stick float rod from the 90's?
And where are you based? you mentioned distance but unless I'm missing the obvious, I can't a reference.
Ta!
My son would have snapped them up but xmas is coming and he has kids to cater for. I rang him and he was in two minds.
I've been considering some myself but my trusty old SX digitals are still doing the biz ok.
Enjoy them!
Also great rods, I have a couple and a couple of P1's. If you're buying two I'd get one of each to cover different situations/distances etc. The X1 falls somewhere between the P1 and the BB but I've never handled one.
Treat yourself they're worth the wait.
Better than what? discussing a subject that relates to angling and the integrity of it?
Us forum members have done no wrong by discussing and offering opinions on the matter, which ever side of the fence you sit, some may think he's at fault (I personally reserve judgement until I know the full...
