I believe they're the exact same reel body but the 8000 has a deeper spool. So I'd go for more line capacity and get the 8000.
I could be wrong though!!
🤷♂️
I quite like that. I like the idea of thumb screws inserted in the goal posts so you don't have to faff on trying to align the alarms and butt rests, a major hate of mine with pods.
I have a pair of the 11'9" and whilst I can't compare it to the other models I can say that it's the best all round rod I've ever used and that includes several Harrisons.
I've rolled meat on the Swale, floater fished for Carp, maggot feeder and float fished for Tench, and on and on.
If I was...
Thanks Richard.
Possibly not worth me getting it done. It's a spare anyway and I might "practise" on it. I went in blind with the multipliers and found them easier to dismantle, service and reassemble than expected. If it ends up in bits, there'll be plenty of spare parts for my others!
Same as, I keep my rod tips as low as conditions allow and most of the time that's inches off the water. The lower your rod the lower the line to your rig and not that barbel care, the more inconspicuous it is!
Daiwa theory 2.25lb
Comes with a normal top section or a quiver tip section with 2 and 3oz tips or 3 and 4oz tips, can't quite recall without looking in the tackle room.
I have a pair of the Chimera 11ft avons and have landed double figure carp on them when fishing prawns for perch.
Possibly the last rods I'd get rid of along with my Daiwa avons.
I've got a pair and they're fantastic rods, they were my go to barbel rods for a long time, use them for tench now.
I think know there's enough power in the butt to stop big fish in their tracks, so can't agree with some previous comments.
