I didn't want to ask as I know a rod is very personal to everyone. For me this is the best rod I've ever owned, the power at the bottom has to be felt to be believed... I am rolling 13lb plus barbel over like they are nothing. Don't read anything into the 1.5lb TC of the rod, they are unbelievable.

Great advice above, adding here from my own experiences on the Kennet. I will prefix it with the fact there is a very good barbel population in this part of the Kennet. Also every river is very different shoals almost have their own unique characters depending on where you are. But the point is...
