never really had a problem casting at night
after casting all day long to the same spot i get the feel and power needed to get it back on target and just trust this when its night..quick look with the torch shows where it went in and most of the time its right, feeling the force i guess...
got one of the energiser ones and found them good quality for the price
had cheaper ones that were useless
also picked up one of these torches and as there are very good build quality and ideal when you need that extra bit of red light

left a couple of kilos of halibut pellets in my garage in a separate bag from the tackle then a big rat moved in..kept him fed for a while and he used my tackle bag as a dinner table as the pellets were up above it..soaked it in anti bacterial gear etc but its never the same so now its just bag...
im all for hair rigging also but having blanked first few days of the season i went prepared to dabble with new baits and tactics, even set up a trotting rod:eek:
but still the good old hair rig paid off:p
been using the sonubait spicy sausage hair rigged with good effect
is it me or does the term "hookable pellet" just mean you can get a hook in them and as soon as they touch the water they fall to bits and come off:eek:
was dabbling with new baits at the weekend and got 2 different brands of hookable pellets tried both and reeled in bait gone:rolleyes:

got a couple of the daiwa theory rods which are slim blanks
best rods ive used IMO for the money

looked at a few in the shop and opted for the rovex in the end
found the korum one too heavy..actully bought it then changed my mind while having a play with it outside the shop so went back in and swapped it
only thing you need to do with the rovex is loctite the screws on the spreader
had...
its never too hot for barbel fishing
just have a few iced coffees in the morning then take plenty of frozen bottles of water, a good hat and your ready to go:D
i bought the drennan handle and used it on a few outings..couldnt get on with it as it came loose very easy in the flow and ended up trying to land a barbel while worrying about loosing the net and handle, kept having to twist it while it was in the water as once its come loose it trys to extend...
ouch!
i got two hooks off a treble pike hook deep in my finger once when i was young..ended up at a&e with mum, they injected my finger to numb it then pulled out a pair of long nose plier things at which point my mum passed out:D and ended up being seen in the next cubicle and i ended up...
