I must say I think it's snake oil, ask any dinner lady what kids prefer & it's junk food..So some are trying to say a barbel is more food savvy than a young child or most adults for that matter..
Probably the best barbel/fish bait ever is maggots are they HNV..
I've been a member a few years now & found it to be a really well run club, with Steve & Tony in particular to be very helpful.. Hope it all sorts itself out.
I take protein because I know it's good for me..does a barbel?
Given the choice between say fish & chips & a high protein meal most people would go for the former, I maybe wrong. I know a lot of lads who get a fried spam sandwich :eek: is a barbel more educated? Probably ;)
One of the main safety issues regarding any water sport is learn to swim.
It's never too late, my late father in law started swimming in his late 50's.
Most sport centres run adult swimming courses & they can be fun,don't feel foolish..
I had a double figure barbel go belly up on a flooded...
Hinders blitz have worked for me over the past few years..although they (Hinders) seem to have altered them slightly this last season or so..Anyone know if this is fact or am I just been paranoid?:confused:
If you can get hold of a Harrison snag & flood rod:) they are 11ft 6" & would be perfect for what you described..The stalker rods are ok but the extra length allows you to keep the fish away from bankside snags..you should be able to pick one up second hand for £80/£100. Good luck.
