I did call Dave last week, he said about three weeks for P1s but I’d want Fuji SIC if I was having a custom build and he may have to order them in.
Tempted by the X1s too.
Before I order new and lose November / December fishing time I thought I’d see if anyone has a nice set of Dave Lumb pike rods.
Preferably 12ft 2.75 - 3lb
Or 11ft 3lb
Longshot I know!
I have a spare Hi-S 15ft I would sell. Factory build, absolutely mint.
I think they are great rods for barbel.
I’ve only had high single figure fish on mine (custom built) but I’ve had a couple of 20lb carp too.
Drop me a PM if interested.
As a complete newbie to trotting for Chub, would any of the BMAA members be willing to recommend any suitable swims on the Upper Trent or Dove?
I have chest waders but a few of the bits I’ve tried are way too deep for that and bank access is limited.
Thank you

OK, so firstly I am a complete beginner when it comes to trotting with a centrepin, but I am determined to give this a go on the Upper Trent for Chub (Barbel would be nice / hopeful) and the Dove this coming season.
I'll be using my Hi-S 15ft power float rod.
Budget isn't limited, what is the...
The 15ft looks a very powerful rod indeed, I suspect it's too much rod for all round specimen float fishing, more designed for specimen barbel and carp on the float. I can't imagine a 4lb Chub giving much sport on it but I may be wrong and won't know until I try it out!
Conversely, the 12ft...
Hi all,
Last year I picked up a couple of FS float rods that I have yet to use in anger.
1. 15ft Hi-S Special Power float rod
2. 12ft Hi-S Specialist float rod (this is a discontinued model)
I will be targeting chub mainly with may be the odd Barbel...
The 15ft Special Power float is a very...
