Hi Adam,
I have had the same problem, used to carry my rod and reel in a quiver with no protection (Harrison and Shimano) and have also bent the bail arm on a 6000, i now carry my rods in a single rod holdall which fits into the quiver.
They are a bloody nightmare. On the thamesmy mates and i use large baits and loose feed with smaller ones. Crays will pick up easier smaller baits and then move onto your larger bait, that is now the time to put some more bait in. Trouble with crays is that they completly cover your hook and...
Red footed falcon. wing span 58-70cm, smaller than a hobby, Graceful and agile flight, fast wing beats, often hovers over fields like a kesterl but not as persistently.
Hi Andrew,
I use both hi and low! If there are lots of bats, rowers or its windy low. All other times 45to 60 degrees any higher i get a bad neck. always the higher position for far bank.
Bite wise not much difference, never get any!
Paul.
Hi Graham,
you have pm.
When do you intend to come and fish the Thames, maybee we could meet up and i will show you a few spots that have done chub to 6lb+
Paul.
Hi Steve,
I think they are based on a Harrison blank even though they are brown in colour.
Guy Rob still uses his and he is the most unforgiving angler on his tackle. He was lobbing a 5oz feeder into the wye with it last week.
Stuart Morgan still uses his as well i think!
Paul.
Luke,
I have been a professional photographer for the last 40 years so send me a message and i will give you some info about cameras, flash lights, filters and software etc.
Have you been out and hows the Thames fishing!!!!!
Paul.
The pellets i am talking about are for hook baits only! Not for use in the feeder, I try and make my hook baits stink, so that the flavour leaks out over a period of time. When fishing the Thames you can wait for a long time between bites. Most of the time i will use big baits ie x2 21mm, unless...
Soak your pellets in sunflour oil. This emulsifie's in cold water. As for cray fish use hemp or any particle that has been left to ferrment for two about weeks, depends on air temp. It will stink, cray fish hate it but fish love it.
What you have to remember is the water temp, is it stable...
Hi Adam,
I live in Oxford and most of my winter fishing is around the Thames in Oxfordshire and Berks, plus a few trips to the Severn, Wye and Wark Avon. I use a 12ft Harrison Flood rod no idea what test curve it is as Harrisons do not state one. It will cast 8oz and has a really soft tip but...
Try the pro logic flotation two piece not only very warm and waterproof but could save
your life if you fell in, Had mine a few years now and still keeps me warm and dry.
Hi Tim,
I noticed my mistake as soon as i sent the post.
I had a look at the Christcurch web site and it is now open.
Fished it last season (day of the disaster in Japan) but river was high and the water cold
so not good conditions. I still have another 4 weeks off work, post surgery so...
