The only way.... I also have the benefit interchangeable quivertips.

Advice on a medium feeder, winklepicker, light Avon type rod. Rivers.

Hi Richard, yes of course. I bought a series of second hand feeder rods and experimented with cutting down the top section to a point where it would fit as a replacement to the 4th section of the harrison 4 piece. Of course, you can make any of them fit, but most don't really match the...

Hi Richard. I was told the same by many and I've found a great solution.... It cost me a bit in experimenting though!

Advice on a medium feeder, winklepicker, light Avon type rod. Rivers.

I use a combination of a greys pb 1lb test curve twin tip, which comes with a quivertip section ( I've managed barbs over 11lb on it) and a harrison 4 piece 1.5tc avon with a modified tip section that has a 3oz quivertip. Either are great options

    Let's discuss mainline...

I rarely use mono these days, but if I were to - I'd opt for maxima. Used to love it.

    Calling all trundlers

Surely they're more expensive than ssg ! I've tried plasticine but I don't really like it. I prefer using shot.

    Calling all trundlers

I'm getting really fed up with being ripped off with half empty tubs of ssg shot from ebay etc. Can anyone suggest somewhere to buy ssg and LG shot at a reasonable price ?

    Organising my rig bits

Ebay is a wonderful thing, 5 of these boxes for under a tenner, you can move the divides around to make them your own.

    Daiwa SS whisker Tournament reels.

I have a few ss750's I use for trundling. Really light weight and small, but surprisingly you don't feel undergunned when using them. Fantastic reels, and for all my wandering sessions they are my reel of choice. If I'm putting couple of rods out on baitrunners on the lower severn then the...

polarized over glasses for spectacle wearers ?

The world is changing and opticians are (slowly) beginning to understand that people should have the freedom to order what they want from where they want. Its a much more competitive marketplace these days. The fun starts when something doesn't work as it should and you can't work out if its...

polarized over glasses for spectacle wearers ?

This is true. Most of us opticians deliberately make it difficult for you to buy elsewhere. They / we figure if they've invested the time in testing your eyes properly and thoroughly etc, there should be some kind of loyalty with purchasing. The good news is that your PD measurement that is so...

Whats this i see in the bristol avon 😁

I know some of the eagles that were introduced onto the Isle of White have taken up residence near longleat. At this stage no complaints from me in that department, would love to see them in the wild.

Whats this i see in the bristol avon 😁

Otters, then beavers, sea eagles on the IOW, red kites the reintroduction of all of these once native species that have been either hunted into near extinction or have died out due to habitat changes.... maybe 20 years from now it'll be the barbel that will be worthy of being reintroduced? 😬😬

    Peregrine Rods

I recently bought a pair of the 4 peice avons from Roger at Peregrin Rods. He was a pleasure to deal with and the rods are lovely. The rods also came back quicker than I expected. 5 stars
