I thought you were only allowed to use the drogues and nets supplied in the boats at Rutland and Grafham, to stop the spread of disease and parasites?
I havent been this season so the policy may have changed.
Good read Lewis, I think you'll find that flatty was a flounder rather than a plaice. Flounder are well known for going into brackish water but it would be very unusual for a plaice to do that. Apart from a slightly different body shape, a good way to check id is to feel for the line of bumps...
I had Flyweights twenty years ago and they were inconsistant at best. On the other hand you could squeeze the sides while you weighed a fish and make it a bit heavier!
Avons now , picked up a second pair for £4 off a carboot this summer. Along with a Hardy flyreel for a fiver.
I have a duralite- nice and light to carry and comfortable. My unhooking mat fits inside the back and 30" net hangs over it for carrying between swims. You must check the legs are properley locked into place before you sit on it or the welding will break on the legs. User error.
Trentfield Farm camping and caravan site, on the tidal Trent at Church Laneham. Free day tickets issued by the campsite. Nice campsite, has a pub in easy walking distance.
Have you tried TFG customer service? I got a spare spring off them a couple of years back for a centre pin, differant model to yours.
Customer service number is 0871 9117045.
Just to offer another choice..I used PARCELS PLEASE recently. They came out cheapest on the day and it was actually DHL who collected and delivered. Also very helpful on the phone.

Graham I can imaginehow painful that was. I had a fallen...
No not really with mine, tho it may depend on what reel you use.
I have a daiwa sweepfire spinning rod that has a lot of wiggle room on the reel seat despite trying several reels on it.
Thanks Bill, it has slowed me down a little altho it didnt stop me blanking on the Trent on Monday night. To be fair I wasnt the only one.
Thanks Richard, Ive found a supplier , Rod Rings and Things ,but emailed to ask if the they measure inside or outside diameter- Guides and Blanks seem to...
Richard you are spot on about the Gerber pliers. In use the handles can nip the palms of the hand. Well made tho, mine have been nipping me for over twenty years now. The leatherman micro is a great addition to a keyring.
