Built a couple of 11' Daiwa rods from the blanks many years ago also built some Tricast 11' rods. Bought them through my local tackle shop (Veals in Bristol).

Handles are important too. Give 'em some thought. Standard pipe fittings are easy and convenient to fit but it's nice to minimise the 'plastic' and make them more comfortable. Cheers Bob

Personally wouldn't. Be patient and get what you want, unless there's a bargain to be had. Wouldn't be the first time that I've bought a new rod and rebuilt it to my spec. Just my opinion, but off the shelf rods can be quite varied. Did a hear a shout of 'we knew he'd say that' Cheers Bob

A bit of additional advice: Make sure that you get decent fittings and especially decent quality cork for the handle. I've seen some expensive rods that has poor cork laced with filler. This should lessen the need for rod maintenance in the future. The 11' Torrix is a great rod and used them...

Having built and owning all the rods you mention and quite a few other Harrison blanks would most likely go for the 1.75 Torrix at 12'. I would also urge you to try before you buy - to see if the blank actually meets your preferences. Graham's suggestion of a pair is good advice. Probably built...
