Chris I'm no expert on margin poles but for around £200 you'll get an 8-9mtr pole that's pretty unbreakable. I brought an 11mtr yank n bank power the other week specifically for barbel/ big float river fishing. 10lb mainline 8lb hook lengths to be used with floats up to 50gram.... I've caught...
Right, what I'm getting at with gravity is... pull your rod away from the rest in your garage at that angle, gravity takes over and the rest drops back to being vertical.... then lower the rod back to the rest, what happens?
It's pretty much proven that you can land anything on a pole. You can make the pole and all the end tackle strong enough to stop a train, it's a just a case if stopping yourself from being dragged in
Dave's probably caught more barbel than most specimen barbel anglers have and he's geared up to get any size barbel in. What he would probably struggle with is a 6lb chub as it would dart for trees pretty quickly.
It's that thing about barbel not being that clued up, they tend to not head for...
funny how things happen..talking to my mate in the tackle about how I had seen the fox spoppers on ebay and it's him making them, so I can vouch they are very well made..also if you asked you can specify the nose weight and length of pins.
In what way? The guys spent £13 on a new fox impact spod then converted it into a spopper so £17 in time and materials to produce, he's hardly going to sell a lot of them so I can't see why it's a joke??😀😀
seen these on ebay...

I have a pair of eiger thermal wellingtons that get used occasionally when match fishing or there has to be snow on the ground to wear them if i'm roving. other than that I stay mobile and wear the wellies
its funny the reason I ask is that they just look cheap and sort of old style being just bronze compared to all the fancy Teflon stuff nowadays and to be honest I've used the drennan barbel hooks a lot but they just cost so much
never really used them but bought some in 12, 14 and 16 for float fishing pellets with bands...are they any good or am I wasting my time and should get something else?
