Found an old unused bottle of the original active 8 activator liquid in my garage last winter. Was much thicker and richer smelling than the current one. Went to make some bait with it in the close season and the mice have eaten through it not happy!

To make the most of being self employed and have some days off in the week to go fishing (will still tell the missus I'm going to work though. Sssh don't tell her).
Always go on two rules with rod test curves. Times test curve between 4 and 7 to get recommended line rating and add 1/2oz to tc for max casting. However when lobbing you can get away with much heavier weight. However no manufacturer will recommend it for possible come back should they break.
Thanks for the information chaps and I think I'll give it a go for a season at least and see what it's like. Does look a lovely stretch of river and is closer than wasing which I was also looking at.
