    OMC magic twig

I’m not so sure he’s that good actually. Good sales require a little subtlety and nuance. Hamidi just seems to over-egg the pudding with all the emotion and best-thing-since-sliced-bread claims. But you are right Mark: any thinking angler with half ounce of common will see it for what it is...

Excellent idea.😉 Set the spring on the other side and you also have the Self Setting Casting Rod.

Brrring…..Brrring…..Brrring…… “Hello?” ”Daniel? Mr Daniel Earl? This is Ali, from One More Cast. I’d like to offer you the position of our Chief Of Marketing. We’ll need to run an audition on your crying skills but all being well, the job is yours.”

Yes, there is tax, there is carp tax and then there is Ali tax. Part of me can’t help wondering if Ali’s drama queen histrionics are partly born out of the sheer relief of finally having acquired a product with a USP that they can patent: every other product on the OMC site just seems to be one...

    OMC magic twig

1 minute 23 seconds of that video… “What can I make that would strike for me, whilest I’m sack back in my bivvy tucked up nice and warm….” I absolutely fxxxing despair of angling sometimes, I really do. These two numb nuts should also invent something that winds the fish in, photographs it...

    Fishing Books Wanted

That’s quite some list there Ian. I suspect you may have to part with some serious folding matter to tick them all off, particularly if you use the services of a book dealer. I do have many of those myself but with the Great British Pound losing its punching power by the day, I’m holding on to...

    Highly waterproof jacket recommendations

I reached the same conclusion when I needed to replace my water proofs several years ago. At the time there was a glut of US issue Desert Storm Gore-tex on eBay. I bought one and it just keeps on going and certainly keeps me just as dry as my dog-walking Berghaus Cornice jacket. The large zip...

its all got to go !

Excellent! Reminds me of this little gem: I really need your advice on a serious problem: I have suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me. The usual signs: if the phone rings and I answer, the caller hangs up; she goes out with the girls a lot. I try to stay awake to...

    Temu

I recall reading recently that Temu are currently shipping orders with an average loss of $30 per order, which seems rather baffling. Never used them myself but I have used Banggood and found then to be remarkably good products and VFM. Just looking through the fishing stuff I see that in true...

    Vacuum sealing baits

Yep, I have the same one too. Bought it for packing dehydrated beef and chicken for my dog. Comes with Lidl’s 3 yr guarantee too.

Diawa powermesh x pm-xc2215 barbel or carp

As Bob says, but I have the barbel rod which has a different code number from yours. I think the "C" in number probably denotes carp as the barbel Specialist rods are PM-XS. Also I think the barbel rods were sold as 1.5TC and 1.75TC. These are clearly 2.25.

Front Drag reels for barbel fishing with no baitrunner......

Agreed. I love my Jap-made Shimano Stradic X reels and they seem to command a far higher price second hand now than I ever remember paying fro them new, which leads me to think I'm not the only one. The fighting drag is almost like a manually operated baitrunner anyhow, just turn it right down...

    What is fishing?

I remember being told that If you can smoke and drink while don’t it, it’s not a sport. It’s a pastime for me too.

    Martin Bowler leaving Drennan

Just wondering aloud if MB’s health issues are a recurrence or secondary issues relating to him having contracted Lime’s Disease a few years ago. I think Lime’s can be a bit of a bastard like that and I’m not sure it ever really goes away once you’ve had a dose.

Cadence great customer service and after care

It is. We’re all quick to slate a company when we feel we’ve been turned over (and so we should), but equally we really ought to spread the word when they go the extra mile. It’s the only way they’ll learn not to try and mug us off. I‘ve been thinking for a while now about one of the cadence...

The most selfish thing I’ve ever seen in angling

Imagine if he was to fall in and the syrup floated off down stream…. … could scare the life out of some poor sod.

NEW ! The grand fishing adventure

A few minutes….? That long…? I lasted for a a matter of seconds before I folded on the first episode. It‘s almost as if they set out to be as knobish as they possibly can.

"Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing" New Series

Nothing wrong with threads that go off topic from time to time. I always liked this quote by a regular on a ( now defunct) old forum I was on. It became something of a mantra on the site and summed the place up very eloquently. "A good web discussion should be like a good pub chat -...

"Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing" New Series

There’s been something of a lack of fish in this series so far. But it just proves that old quote: “ The fishing was great, it was the catching that was bad….” Tonight‘s episode was very good.
