Rods for sale , esp Harrison, Drennan ,tfg etc

Hi Neil. I would be interested in the Darent Valley 0.75 rods if still available. I will be staying at Sandy Balls(first time for a few days from March 4th which would be handy. Be nice to combine a purchase with some huge roach, chub and grayling🤣🤣 Regards Kev

    Harrison Advanced Rods

The spiral effect on the blank occurs during manufacture. It’s a tape that is wrapped around the blank before it goes into an autoclave to be “cooked”. More often than not, these days the tape is ground off to reveal the weave of the carbon, probably just for aesthetics. Harrison can identify...

    New floats available

Hi Richard. Your picture shows some 5g bodies. Are these likely to be made up as I would be interested in a set of four red two yellow. I’m in no hurry but have probably missed the boat. Regards Kev

    Another tackle shop going

Following on with this topic, I was previously in the market for a Diawa TDR reel. At the time, my incredible fishery based dealer would price match to ensure a sale. He was amazed when I showed him the best online price that I had found and said that it would cost him more than that to put it...

    Defiant River pod /banksticks....

I,ve been using this company for a good few years. Not bought anything as large as a pod, but the indicators, bobbins ,quick change adaptors and sticks have been excellent. Another item, a”digging stick”, a stainless archimedes screw point mounted on a titanium shaft has proved invaluable for...

    Centrepin line issues.

Thanks guys for your responses, appreciated. The reel in question is a Youngs Bob James (not lightweight) and was spooled with the same 0.16 dia line that I normally use. I doubt that I put more than 50 metres on but on top of the original line that I felt was no longer long enough, that may...

    Centrepin line issues.

I know that there are a good number of pin users on here and would welcome suggestions on an issue. I should say that I have used a pin for decades and would consider myself “competent “ friends may disagree 😂. Before a recent grayling trip I re spooled my BJ with the same floating line hat I...

Shimano Stradic Specialist Rod, 12ft, 1.25lb tc

Paul. Not exactly what you’re looking for but if you fancied an upgrade…….. I have a genuinely unused Technium Specialist. It’s never had a reel on it, don’t recall it being put together. Shrink wrap still on handle. Carrier section with 1 1/2, 2 , 2 1/2oz glass tips and a 3oz carbon tip...

    Shimano 5010GT baitrunner wanted

Hi Alan. I have an exceptional boxed 5010GT (double handled) with spare spool, £50+pp . Anyone able to give some advice on adding images to a post. The photos that I’ve taken look great on my phone but rubbish when attaching to post. Perhaps file size, resolution or something else that my...

I’d like to say thank you to everybody for their contributions and pm’s regarding my cheeky request. It never ceases to amaze me how generous members are with their help👏. I think we have now formulated a plan and hope that we catch a few to justify your help. Best regards. Kev

    July Wye trip

Nice level platforms sounds good. I do worry about my buddy on dodgy banks and I feel that I need to fish really close”just in case”. Grateful for that tip off. Less worry, more fish 🤞

    July Wye trip

Thanks Cliff. We have fished Stan’s on numerous occasions and probably will again on this trip. Not the most scenic of venues, but certainly very accessible and Stan is an amenable guy. The Old Harp below is also accessible but limited numbers like the Wye and Usk stretches.

    July Wye trip

Hi guys. Myself and a friend hope to have three days on the Wye in early July. Due to health issues, planning has been late to say the least. As expected, most of the W and U stretches are already booked. We have accommodation in Ross and are considering the town stretch on our first...

Hi Michael. I do have a factory built Chimera Barbel 11’ 6”. Harrison have confirmed that this is the Snag and Flood with a different badge. It was then stretched to 12ft to meet the demand for 12ft rods and called the”Chimera Specialist No 3). Its had an isotope shrink tubed on the tip...
