I have just invested in a Duo 1.5 for winter Chub or Barbel which hopefully may come my way. Can i ask which Reel or size of reel would be most suitable?. Fishing Avon/Stour. Thanks in advance.
Had a pair of x aero 4000 not a patch on the 5010. Said goodbye to them and bought Daiwa emcast br4000a. Much better and a front drag which is superb. Also the bail arm is thicker than x aero which gave me more confidence on the bank.

The bait band made of pole elastic, see the article by Steve Stayner in Barbel Fisher 9. Meat as large or small as the size of loop made. Also good for a stiff paste. What ever happened to Steve.
Ordered the Elips pellets in two sizes after following this thread. Also a bag of their Barbel boilies. Had a Hants Avon double within 30 mins on the boilie and small bag of pellets. Thanks to all who made the recommendations.
Thinking anglers rucksack. Very light and comfy, 3 outside pockets and plenty inside. Also has bankstick holders on the front. Not massive so you cant overfill it. Best I have had for the river angler.
