    Harrison Chimera 2 - 1.75 New Build.

Bob, that is a fantastic looking rod. Do you still build to order and if so approximately how much would a similar rod cost ?

    Mini Baitrunners

Agreed. I have used two for a few years now on the smaller rivers with Harrison 1-6’s and 1-10’s and they complement each other really well.

    River Blackwater

Well done mate. It took me 20 years, about 6 different rivers and a couple of hundred barbel before I caught my first barbel back in 1999. I only fished the Blackwater once and liked the look of it until the bank collapsed and I took a thorough soaking ! Never been back nut remember it being a...

    Hello.

Hi mate, welcome to the best fishing forum on the web. Don’t know whether you have ever fished the Hampshire Avon but I am willing to bet it is right up your street.

    New centrerpin

Can anyone advise whether the Mk II RW Rolling pin cured the tendency for the reel to wobble when playing a fish. I believe the Mk I’s suffered from this problem and it has always put me off buying one.

    Tench 2024

Any of you tench fishers still use swingtips ? I used to use them for tench and silvers on the Royal Park lakes when I was a boy living in south west London and remember it being great fun as the tip twitched a few times and then shot out straight ! When thinking about this last night I ordered...

    Oops…reel repair needed.

Hi David, do you have contact details for Chris. I have a very old Rapidex that my father gave me when I was a boy and it led to me currently owning 7 others. All in use occasionally. The one my dad gave me I dropped a few years back and it now doesn’t run true and catches the cage. I think the...

    New River Threats.

She’s beautiful, what a fantastic creature. Re-locate into an Aquarian, don’t kill her like we humans do every other poor f***er on the planet that doesn’t fit into our idol ,

    Braid for Barbel fishing.

lol. I’m going come He’ll or high water (pun intended !) but could well end up on the lakes which would be a first. I’ve fished in floods on the Avon many times but I take your point. I think I’ll give it a miss until the new season. 😉 That should fool the weather gods !

    Braid for Barbel fishing.

My fishing partner and I switched over to braid in the early 2000s and found that bites were much more savage although not as frequent as when using mono. We switched over to fluro and bites increased although I continued to use a braid hook link because i was more confident with the suppleness...

    Vehicle of choice

Boot space is very good and the car is bullet proof. I’m on my third 4x4 currently but go for the diseal as the petrol versions lack torque at low speed.
