    New korum ruckchair

Agree with above comments and another nonsense product. If I took that on the Severn the underneath would be completely caked in shite in no time!

    Drennan Twistlock Handle ...again !!!

You’ve pretty much summed it up there. I agree its a brilliant piece of kit and my 3 ME handle is around 15 years old and its never developed an issue. After every few trips, I take a piece of kitchen towel soaked in warm water/fairy liquid and shove it through. It comes out of the other end...

    Centrepin line issues.

For float fishing and for years, I’ve spooled my pins with 40 to 50 ME of 6.6lb Silstar Match Team line and I’ve never experienced your described issue. What pin are you using out of interest?

    Drennan Twistlock Handle ...again !!!

I emailed them and 48 hours later, 3 spares arrived 👍🏻

    Adam's Mill, bankside clearance

I’m not familiar with the river, but if this involves mass tree felling/removal then contact the Forestry Commission and ask them to check if a felling license was granted bythem? Same thing happened on my local River Dane and they were all over it, eventually issuing the farmer with a legally...

    Crayfish

The latter is true, as the biggest consumer of juvenile crayfish is adult crayfish, so if you trap the larger ones, you end up with even more. This is why the E.A can be reluctant to grant trapping consent. When they first appear, you get a massive population glut, before it peaks and tails off...

    Neoprene Boots

I bought a new pair a couple of weeks back Ian and although I can remove them without, its easier for me to do so with a welly remover. Over time they will become easier to remove in my experience. Fat calfs is probably my issue and I need to stop using the calf press in the gym 🙂

    Neoprene Boots

Another vote for Aigle Parcors ISO 2 boots. Expensive but the best out there and both of my previous pairs, each lasted 10+ years and they got some hammer 👍🏻 Apparently Decathlon is currently the cheapest place to buy them. Get a welly remover too.

    River feeder rod

Interesting as up until recently I used a Daiwa TDR2508 on my Vertex. I also picked up the carp feeder rod cheap for £70. Local tackle shop sold their Vertex rods off cheap, claiming no one bought them and everyone instead bought Acolytes. Personally I still love the Vertex 👍🏻

    River feeder rod

Dont ignore the Drennan Vertex rods, like most people do. The blue graphics are not to everyones taste and I notice that Drennan have toned them down on the latest distance feeder versions. For my own Perch and Chub fishing I now exclusively use the 11ft Vertex Carp feeder and the 11ft Medium...

    Perch

You’ll find Perch in every length of the Severn, trust me they are there. I used to fish the canals round Nantwich, but no longer bother. There’s just no comparison 👍🏻

    Perch

They ordered me one in, without paying a deposit. Said if I didn’t like it, they would just sell it anyway. Not sure which north west clubs you are in, but if you have access to the Severn, then you should consider checking it out. Here’s the best one from Sunday, just gone:

    Perch

Nigel, I have the Drennan SS 13ft extension rod and I’ve had a number of good Perch to 3.15lb using it, from the River Severn near Shrewsbury. Bought it just up the road from you at Dave’s of Middlewich. I like the fact I can make it up at home and take it to the riverbank in a 6’ rod sleeve 👍🏻...

    Fish Flix

The content is brilliant and better than anything on say YouTube. I subscribed for a couple of months, watched the available content and will do so again later this year. I really enjoyed the Chub videos and especially The University of Chub, which I watched several times 👍🏻 My advice to...

What is the ultimate setup for a long walk?

I suffer with a bad lower back and despite this I can walk a mile plus with the following: Drennan Super Specialist Rod Quiver: 2 rods (with or without sleeves), brolly, bank sticks, landing net handle, Middy Barbel net. Original Korum Ruckbag, overloaded with tackle, scales, sling, food...

    Lidl garlic sausage

Re hooks and the mentioned Partridge Barbel Hooks, if they are the same as the original Patridge Barbel hooks, then IMHO, they are the best meat hooks on the market, having a straight eye and long shank. When they were originally discontinued, which coincided with Loan Angler closing down, I...
