Rod position is always determined by the flow for me. The lower to the water I can get the rod the better as I'd prefer as much of the line to be on the bottom as possible. I use to 3-4 tungsten droppers around 18 inches apart on the mainline and fish a fairly slack line.
I always fish shortish...
I have a friend who lives on the Thames, probably half a mile at least away from 'public access' in either direction and who has had some success prebaiting boilies close in for the carp.
I have to think that it has something to do with the lack of angling pressure, as Richard has alluded to above.
Lovely tench Steve. I'm itching to get out also but like Duncan, waiting for a big pit to warm up a bit.
Didn't know anything about a sister site, I'll check that out thanks.
Apologies.
I read the blog and didn't realise it was a thread started in 2013, as Neil mentioned above it was someone posting yesterday that took it to the top!
Should have checked more thoroughly!
Apologies.
Someone had responded online on another forum only yesterday that had taken the post to the top. It was an old article from 2013, I should have read it more closely!
Stunning fish, I'm sure you're over the moon!
I might venture down to the thames tomorrow as temps look good - the surprise would be if anything took an interest in my hookbait!
As many have said though, that's the reason we love fishing rivers!
I have a few bottles from the last special left over.
Out of interest, what do you use it for?
I glug boilies, add it to anima feed pellets I buy from a feed merchant but that's it.
Hi all.
For those who are using ecwcs jackets can anyone recommend mil-tec over helikon or is there not much to choose between the two?
I'm looking at the fleece lined jackets and theres about 30 quid difference as the mil-tec is on offer.
Thanks in advance.
I believe the membership changed this last season. Full members ie civil servants etc can nominate friends to join on a full membership or anyone can join as an associate member but its more expensive.
To join as a full member however you also have to join the social club membership which is...
I've attached some images of one of the rods Graham including the rod bag. Let me know if it's the right one - I'd prefer to sell the pair as opposed to just one rod to be honest but let me know what you think.
