As per the discussion recently John Norris are having a 50% off sale at the moment. Harlika clothing and Seeland clothing. I'd particularly recommend the Seeland fleece waistcoat or jacket at £25 down from £70.
I don't think Harlika jacket have hoods.
Just feels wrong to me, wearing gloves fishing, at least trotting, spinning or fly fishing. After years suffering cold hands, since I've started using Merino wool thermal undies my hands don't get cold any more. Sure the Muckboots help a lot too.
Incidentally the best gloves I found when I was...
I'd also like to give a heads up to the John Norris shop and Seeland clothing. Had a fair few shirts starting about 4 yrs ago, brilliant quality, I don't think I've even lost a button so far. I'm currently sitting here at home wearing a Seeland fleece waistcoat and a Seeland fleece lined shirt...
See my posts on the Yumoshi reels. Best quality I've found. I'm pretty sure they're not that popular because they're too cheap. Can choose your size, some go from 1000 - 10,000 with detailed specifications.
When I used to roll meat on a particularly suitable reach on the Kennet I'd use one or two big split shot, really big, about 7 grams each, with plastecine added to suit. A nice touch was to add bits of weed to disguise the plastecine. This was on a very fast bit of river. A little extra water...
This is the new one, I want one.

This is one of the 2 I have. I've done most of the Salmon spinning with this one. Bale arm operation has...
Can't seem to be able to post the link. I'll have to do it on the PC. In the meantime enjoy the above which was on my clipboard. Gorgeous and talented or what?
I don't mean Darryl Hall, by the way.
If you really want to think outside the box, get on Ebay and check out Yumoshi reels. 12bb+1 or more indicates top quality reels.
I've been using them for 4 years, spinning or float fishing for Salmon and without doubt they're the best fixed spools I've ever owned. 4 yrs and they're still...
Try without the thick socks to start with. I also suffer poor circulation, Reynards, and absolutely don't need thick socks. If the fit is a bit tight it can restrict circulation.
I've had a pair of Arctic sport Muckboots for the last 5 years and they're worn on most trips October to March. No extra socks and warm as toast in any weather I'll be fishing.
Was so pleased I wanted to get my son a pair for Christmas. I discovered that the specification had changed and the...
The Ivel at Biggleswade does still have a few Barbel but the big ones seem to have been Ottered. Fantastic Chub, silverfish and Perch to be had and plenty of Pike.
I used to carry far too much gear. Nowadays I use a fly-fishing waistcoat which holds all of the end tackle, floats etc. Bait boxes inside my JRC Xtra lite chair with a rod rest, unhooking mat and net. Handle rod banded to 1 or 2 rod bags/cases. Anything else goes in a carrier bag.
It's a great shop and I've been in there a few times when visiting my sister in Southampton. Was there close to Christmas one year and I was amazed how many wives and mothers were in there buying gift vouchers for Christmas presents. Not seen the same anywhere else.
