Not fished for barbel for quite a while now and as much as i like sitting by the river watching the wildlife im there to catch barbel and the bristol avon stretch i fished is now as good as dead in that department. Andy

remember doing this on a day out with trefor west many years ago and caught a 10lb on corn with a 3" hook link the only thing i would do different is add a pva bag as the guys suggest above.

Gotta agree with anthony i used to use isotopes but found them all a bit dim then went over to useing red/pink starlight types which i used to get by the box from somewhere 500 for less than an isotope and you can see them without squinting. Andy

who can stop you putting in a gallon of hemp the day before you go then fish a worm over the top the next day. And i have no intension of doing so but can be done, also i know someone who owns land on a river who says he does not recognise the close season and people can fish when they like:D...

yes you can fish worm for trout on most stretches which says alot about the close season doesn`t it, got nice lot of worms ready haha.
