Undoubtedly sight is the lesser of their senses when it comes to feeding.

What weight of feeder, and set up of terminal tackle are you using?

    Boilie size

I often use double 18mm baits with size 4/5 hooks on some of the more tidal areas of the Trent, but do tend to fish predominantly evening or overnight sessions. Many of my better fish have come in low, clear summer cons.

    Barbel & Crayfish

Wooden balls predrilled and soaked in any number of flavours, and a stiffish hooklink is your best bet.

Best barbel rod for medium sized rivers between £50-150

I will probably get another pair if they come up at the right price, at the right time. :) Use mine on the tidal Trent for barbel, zander, pike and everything in between.

Best barbel rod for medium sized rivers between £50-150

I wouldn't swap my original twin tip Neoterics for any other rod out there to be honest. Love them to bits. If you can find a pair - buy them!

    Want: Pair of rods...

PM Bill. Chris, much as I'd love them myself, they may be a bit OTT for the occasional angler that is my old boy.

I'm in Lincoln area Bill, happy to sort a deal inc courier if needs be, and possibly can collect as the old boy gets all over.

    Bite Alarms ?

My preference would be to bugger off as far away from stretches like that as possible!

    Hooks. Help.

I made the switch from Drennan SS over to Kamasan Barbel Maxx a few years back and have been very happy, never having one fail and I fish some extremely rocky areas of the tidal Trent.

    Line recomendations.

I have used Gardner line on some very rocky areas of the Trent, and found it to be excellent. GR60 originally, then GT80 then moved to GT80+. Been very happy and see no reason to consider changing.
