Moved the pb up by an ounce, 2lb 6oz - the best way to do it ! Still hoping for one closer to 3lb before the cold weather arrives. I’m going to miss the fens when it does.

I think I have 21 rods and reels which is a lot, but I fish for all species including fly.

Absolutely loving my rudd campaign. Fishing at its simplest: a rod, net, pack of hooks and some bread. Walked miles, hardly seen a sole and caught some stunning fish. Equalled my PB yesterday with this beauty.

My waistline has reduced and I’ve managed a few beautiful wild rudd to boot. Still not bettered 2.05 though.

I have some grade 1 Altbergs and they’re very good, especially for the money.

If 3lb test curve rods were needed for barbel fishing I really wouldn’t bother. A major part of the enjoyment i derive from fishing for all species, is getting an alarming bend in the rod. I’ve never cast to the far bank of the Tidal Trent and never will. If others want to do so, no problem, so...

I feather my casts because it reduces tangles on both stillwaters and rivers. Simples.

I did Rich for many years, but now just try and buy quality freezer fishmeals with a difference and pimp them up a bit.

It’s very effective for barbel Chris, I always have one rod on milks and the other on a fish meal.

I have yeasts in my current mix, no idea why though, just always seems to go with liver. May have read the musings of one of the bait gurus, back in the day when I didn’t realise how precious time is.
