Oh, those fish in St James Park lake. I’ve driven myself half mad watching them from the bridge in the past. They just hang there in the water, in plain sight, taunting you. Lovely to see, but so frustrating.

Agreed but, unfortunately, that is what the majority of anglers seem to want these days. Either specimen waters with a limited stock of larger carp (all with names, of course!) or ‘runs’ waters, stuffed with small to medium sized carp. I’m sure the likes of Dick Walker and Fred J Taylor are spinning in their graves at the very thought!

There is a waiting list for members (bearing in mind it is a carp fishery) and it's over £500 p.a. Not sure what is happening to the tincas, but i will try to find out. I think the EA are relocating them.

Quality tench are apparently hard to find. They should fetch a good price. There will be plenty of takers.

Had one last foray to the fens this week but struggled, so that’s it for this season. Did manage to up the pb two weeks ago though with this beauty of 2.08. Grayling, zander and chub will be getting my attention now.

Started my fens Rudd campaign on the 16th this year and managed to up my pb to 3.0lb exactly. Weighed by a friend so no half ounces added ! Absolutely chuffed to bits. Bought a silly hat for the new campaign, now my lucky silly hat.
