There are several versions of the Drennan Avons,the 1 1/4lb is a brilliant Chub rod, but may be under-gunned if needed to chuck bigger feeders, but also may be a bit too much rod for smaller roach..... the 1 1/2lb version would be much too much rod for roach fishing, -i...

All of the "river" 11/13's are proper match fishing tools, i have 3 or 4 of them.
The top one would be a Connoisseur, and you can get hollow tops for them, so they will double up as a barbel rod too and they will cope with pretty much anything the rivers can throw at you.....

Going to give the Gt Ouse "above Bedford" another crack, but will also have the chub in mind as they seem to be packing on weight these days...must be all of those crays they are munching on.....

A 12' 1 1/2lb TC Drennan Super Specialist, this was the precursor to the better known Super Specialist Duo, it was, in my opinion better made that the Duo, and sold for 10 quid more....
