    That's a big Otter!

If you release it back to sea it will only come back......usually within a few days apparently...:(

    That's a big Otter!

Two things..... you can apply for a licence to shoot it if it is causing a lot of damage, sometimes they grant them...... And the reason its there is probably because its already had positive contact with humans (RSPCA) and has lost most of its fear of us.....most of the ones in the Gt Ouse have...

    That's a big Otter!

We have a few around St Ives in Cambs, that is 80 miles inland... Unfortunately they seem to be quite settled to river life and have been around for at least 3 years. They, with the other "furry pests" have denuded the area of larger fish, to the point that there is bugger all chance of catching...

I have a pair of the now discontinued Drennan Specialist Barbel rods for sale, £300 the pair Collected I bought these last year with thoughts on using them on the Tidal, but i haven't had a chance to use them, and probably wont either....... I will put some pics up when i get home later on...

    Daiwa Infinity Advanced Barbel Rod

To get back to the original question..... I had a pair of the original Infinities, and can confirm that the build quality & components are absolutely top notch. I found that the rods were "springier" than a lot of Barbel rods recovering a lot quicker than most, but in true Daiwa fashion they...

    new fishing jacket

Have a look at the Cabelas website its in the USA, but ship world wide, i can vouch for the quality of both the lined (very warm) and unlined items, very soft MT50 fabric, and Gore-Tex too, i didn't think it was too expensive, but what you pay generally dictates what you get...

And I thought wellies were just wellies....

I use a pair of Barbour Neoprene lined wellies..very comfortable, good for walking and fairly warm, not for sub-zero tho, & not the cheapest! but much better than the Hunter boots they replaced. Have a look at the John Norris website for some decent bargains.... Andy

Wanted . Shimano xtea double handle

Double Handle If you can get a double handle from a similar sized reel you can carefully punch out the rivet which secures the handle onto the drive shaft and fit it to the drive shaft of the XTEA. I had to do this with my Twin Power XT-RB's as they only came with a single handle.... Its not...

    Wanted black Shimano 4000 GTM

Several on e-bay at the mo, also some GT's which in my opinion are better suited for Chubbing than the GTM, (not quite so fast on the retrieve) Andy

    Kryston Incognito Flurocarbon

Airflo G3, mostly used as a Tippet material for fly fishing, but I've found it to be reliable and robust...i also use it for carp fishing.....usually can be found as a BOGOF, or a 100mtr spool for @£5.99 from John Norris Andy

So how did it go ?

First trip along my old haunts on the Upper Ouse from 8 or 9 years ago.... River very low & slow, and well weeded. Bottom alive with crays in places, (which looks very macabre!) and devoid of all life in others, had one small Chub and a rather large angry cray....which quietened down after i...
