    Am i missing something ...

In 1969 a whole Ford Capri was about £800, for a reproduction rear quarter panel you’ll need to shell out £1500. Two/Three years ago a Yellow Tang for your aquarium would of cost £45, now £350. Simple supply and demand. There’s a world of people there buying crap they and about four other...

Free spirit rod price increase, again

Where are the components that Harrison use to make their blanks from?

Free spirit rod price increase, again

Tbh Dave, I think a lot of it is just market correction. There’s been next to no inflation for the last decade over many areas. Demand is out stripping supply and the power balance is changing.

    Okuma inception 6000

Ringwood Tackle are an Okuma stockist Chris, or they certainly were last time I looked. It seems a popular model so they probably have them behind the desk.

    Okuma inception 6000

On the flip side, how can other manufacturers justify their price?

A week away on the Hampshire Avon .

There are significant road works on the A31 at Ringwood currently, overnight closures etc so try to keep your accommodation West of it, ie in Dorset as opposed to Hampshire.

I’d definitely second that. Be humble and listen, some of its gold.

    looking good

I was out in that cold snap week or two back Adrian and ended up catching some still water Chub. First run I thought they were small Carp because they took off. Certainly made a nice bit of sport on an otherwise bleak day.

    You Tube

River Piker is a font of open information on Lure fishing. If it were not for him and the help and welcome I received from a couple of guys I met through the LAS I would of given up that first winter.

    Whats your PB?

14.10 H.Avon September fish back in 2019 for me. I weighed it twice I was so struck by its proportions. The second weighing it hit 14.10, first was 14.12, so I look the lower weight.

    Invasive species,Prussian carp

For an Island nation so close at heart to others like New Zealand or Australia we seem to learn very little from them.

Thoughts on Barbel wising up to rigs

I think it’s worth pointing out, I honestly do not believe the fish feels the hook penetrate, think about tench that pick up a bait and sit there, we’ve all had it. I’ve picked up a motionless rod on numerous occasions to find a Chub hooked. The nerves aren’t there to do that, a fishes mount and...

Thoughts on Barbel wising up to rigs

I’d really like to “get into” free lining and trundling. With that in mind I picked up a 1.25tc rod that will hopefully allow to get on with it next summer. I’ve done a bit of free lining log worms for Chub but it’s very limited in its application.

Interesting old catalogue page from 1978

Because I’m an odd individual I spent a few minutes. A £70 rod an reel combo in 1972, would be the equivalent of spending £1072 today. The average house price in 1970 was about £4K, or £60k. Average house price in 2021, 270k…

Halibut pellets in winter? Boilies in winter?

Tried using a maggot clip and hair rig them?

    Split Cane rods

    Pier rod I can see.

    Split Cane rods

I’d found that before but it’s of pretty slight proportions for a sea rod, I certainly wouldn’t want to throw 3 or 4oz leads on it.
