Not exactly true...When they abstract and treat water for human consumption, the removed industrial waste products, heavy metals, pesticide residues, pathogens etc, which are filtered via sand or other, are flushed 'back' into the river from whence they came.... and in a more concentrated form...

Rivers may look clean when gin clear Ian , but i can assure you.. they are not..and still full of poisons, carcinogins, synthetic hormones and other nasties! Dare you to drink some neat from the river with no treatment and removal of the invisible substances present:)

Yeah true ..but that's why the EA keep re-stocking rivers just before the last remaining generation dies out... without breeding.:)

It does look like the camera of that high spec should not be able to produce lower quality images. Seems it is on a wrong setting and producing 'Bitmap' like photos/images to where the high definition and resolution is being lost, or maybe in the way they are downloaded to the computer, possibly...

Nigel...Not sure of your version of the camera you have, but it does seem to have a 'remote' accessory that you can buy as an extra. That would make it a lot easier for you, or of course if not, get a friend out to take the pictures for you, especially with the calibre of fish you are catching...

Love the TAC work and does sound great, but the question must be asked as to why it needs re-stocking, when it is a “great habitat for young barbel, dace and chub”! Is there a problem with the river in that area and are they not breeding naturally? Re-stocking seems to be happening...

Any idea who commissioned/paid for the research/study etc?
