    Winter boots/wellies?

I'm considering getting some boots or wellies for the colder weather. I've seen the ski tex field boots and they look like they'll keep my feet warm also ive heard good reviews on the Arctic muck boots. Any recommendations for winter footwear?? I currently have muckmaster muckboots and merino...

High back comfy chair that's light.

At least I'll get to see the sky at night in comfort and watch for shooting stars! 😆 (Rods alway next to me fixed down on baitrunners and alarms!)

High back comfy chair that's light.

You've seen a picture of mine Rob and I can honestly say its the most comfortable fishing chair I've ever had!

    Daylight hours fishing.

Rob. The first few doubles I had out of the Ouse a few years ago were in daylight and on a very low river! I've had the odd 'multiple' catch when the river is like that to, but not when the temperature is very high! I used to fish small baits most of the time (8mm source pellet) and had my first...

    Hook choice

Thats reassuring to know as I've just ordered some 8's and 10's and 4's. I have had a number of hook pulls this season but I think I know why now!

    Hook choice

Yes very good hooks imo and I bought as many as I could find before they were gone!

    Bumping fish

I do prefer an Inturned/beaked point and wide gape! I've just recently gone up a hook size and not pulled out of a fish as yet!

    Feature finding advice.

I've used my deeper pro on the Yorkshire Ouse which is a deep river in places and can be very snaggy so leading around will mean losing the odd lead mapping out swims! Also casting a float and lead/plummet out will be tricky with the depth unless your using a slider! So far over the past 2...

    Bumping fish

I've often wondered if some of the barbel I've pulled out of this season on the Ouse are line bites and as I use a fairly long link at times they may even swim over the hook and catch it!? Also I've had lots of 'chub' like pulls and come back with half a boilie on 2 occasions!

Wanted Wychwood Maximiser 13ft twin tip

I picked one of these up at a local car boot! Very lucky find I know! Although it says 'Leeda Epic Barbel' on the blank. The chap I bought it from said it was a prototype...£30!!

    Daiwa Amorphous Whisker 11/13' Feeder

I have the Stillwater version and have landed Barbel on it in the past! It was a great bream rod on the river I fished as there are weed beds close in and the extra length helped keep those fish out!

    River temperature taking

I use a Reuben Heaton Digital Thermometer...but recently I've doubted it's accuracy as a few other anglers were all getting 3f less than my reading! Ive now ordered another aquarium thermometer (which I had originally) I do believe though that what's relavant is not the actual temperature...

    Your favourite Blockend feeders

I like the Korum mesh block end feeders. They are big feeders that you can fit plenty of maggots into so great for winter imo when you don't want to be casting in regularly. They are a little pricey though!
