Never get chance to photograph them when they land on my rod but luckily had my phone in my hand. Shame the tip of my boot is the frame but I didn’t want to scare it off by moving
I brought the jag kit recently. Only use the black file though so in hindsight I should of just brought that. One of the smaller files was actually snapped down to about an inch and the broken off bit wasn’t even in there but couldn’t be bothered taking it back
I was using one up until this season when I went down Severn Stoke when the river was low and it would just about of reached the water if I’d of needed it (blanked so didn’t matter). I went out and brought the 1.6m one and have just used that since. I think if you’ve got the big one then no need...
I remember the first fish I had on my first home made boillies. I was doing some stalking for carp and had lowered a 5 boilie stringer into the margins and lay my rod in the floor. After a few mins I saw a few fish moving in and couldn’t remember if I’d put the bait runner on or not as I wasn’t...
They’re the most annoying bites. Iv hooked fish hitting them and also missed while simultaneously spooking my swim. There’s a fine line between striking too early and leaving it too late and having your bait nicked
I’m similar mate. Was gonna go this evening but decided I needed a nap instead. Only just woke up and feel worse than I did before. I think you’ve just got to get up and go as once you arrive at the river you normally forget how tired you were. It can be hard to get the motivation though at...
I use whatever my mainline is normally. Never felt the need to use a lighter line as whenever I get snapped off it’s always the hook anyway unless the line has been scratched up or the lead run ring is completely snagged then it will snap at the swivel knot above the hooklink. Once iv spooled up...
Watched bits of the first season when it was on. Was ok but it’s definitely more of show to please everyone rather than a show for anglers. I’d rather watch Chris Yates and Bob James jumping out of trees into a lake with a fish on or a bit of John Wilson creasing himself up while playing fish...
I’m a believer of if a fish brushes your line but can’t see it it will spook off easier that if it touches it and can see it. For all they know it’s a twig or bit of weed
I know what you mean about the straps. Iv brought the light weight korum recliner chair this year and with the straps fully extended it’s tight. Gonna be interesting in winter with extra layers on
First image from last weekend on the Severn. Second image was from this weekend and was pretty random. That black line was more bold than it looks on the photo. God knows what it was. Was shooting right up into the sky
This is what Iv got. I brought the big one and half the time I wish I’d gone for the smaller bag but at the same time I’d rather carry the bigger one half empty than not have enough room to fit extra stuff like flasks and waterproofs for when the weather ain’t great
Love them all but they’ve all got their pluses and minuses.
Rising river is great especially if it’s an influx of warm water but you get a lot of debris getting washed off the banks and trees.
Peak is great as long as it’s not too high and rendered 90% of the pegs unfishable as the fish feed...
