    Double Standards

Agreed, the WA is fishing OK, I've been doing pretty well there lately. The 'Single Species Ambassador' was calling people that questioned him w***ers on his video diary thing last week, even though the Single Species Society he purports to respresent have closed their stretches to angling...

    Anybody stopped fishing?

Good to hear that fish is still around Neil, I've not been down that stretch for 12 months now, I fished it last year a few times but only got blanks. I'll have to revisit it at some point.

    Bait droppers

the best ones by a mile were the Seymo teardrop ones, 2oz, 4oz and 8oz. The 4oz ones were the best, they stopped making them, but i think Dinsmores make the same model now, not cheap though, 12-13quid i think.

    RACG

It's been brought around by the ongoing demise of the barbel society and the current state that's in. A lot of the new guys involved in the RACG are ex BS guys, Jerry, Shaun, Paul etc etc. Those guys should steer it in the right direction hopefully.

    Cold Water Barbel

I had a 10.8 a couple of seasons back with a water temp of less than 4c, so 37/38f. Lobworm was the bait. As said, even in the coldest of spells, they have to feed at some point, the hard bit is being there when they do I suppose.

    Otter petition.

Taylor's attitude is disgraceful, instantly blocking and ignoring anyone who dares question his beliefs. He's not the only one on the BS that does it either. His best mates would disagree, and of course all their sycophants. I believe in cycles and predator/prey swings as said above, but I do...

    Grayling for the pot

No one has a problem with taking trout or grayling for the pot, but if you're a high profile angler like DT is, you don't advertise it, like MM says. Angling has enough problems without high profile anglers posting pics of dead fish up. What i find quite sickening is the amount of his fans...

    Grayling for the pot

Thanks Dave, slightly tongue in cheek, i couldn't resist!

    Grayling for the pot

Given that he's an ambassador for the BS Chris, he really shouldn't be posting pics of dead grayling up that he's having for tea. This is the same bloke that went off on a rant a few weeks ago at the AT meeting, saying he wanted an otter cull.....very hypocritical of him to killing fish...

    Grayling for the pot

When you don't use unhooking mats, and own up to using a keepnet like he has, I doubt whether munching a few grayling would bother him. Ambassadorial.

...and some big Derwent fish too John...... thrice.

it's a stunning fish.....Mark's first season on the lower too I believe, with a few other good doubles to back that one up, great achievement.

    Korum 12ft Barbel rod

I've got a 2lb that I purely use for chucking baitdroppers. It's a strong rod and the blank seems ok, but I agree that quality isn't great, the reel attachment fitting broke on mine not long after having it.

    Protective rod cases

Only need something that caters for two made up rods Paul....

    Protective rod cases

Evening chaps, I'll be upgrading my rods to Freespirits next month(lucky me). I'm currently using a Korum three rod quiver for my current rods, which obviously doesnt offer 100% protection. So, what the best rod holdall that offers full protection? It would need to also house rod rest...

    Bait droppers

Can't wait for those to arrive Mark. The medium ones (4oz), are the nuts. I used to have 5 of them, currently down to my last two. I do find they do need modifications though, the doors can work loose, so I pop rivet mine on before i use them. JC

    UFO,s whilst fishing.

I've found just lately that there's more chance of seeing a UFO than my isotope moving....

Do your Baits and boilies change come winter?

bear in mind Jon that a lot of members on here are currently out chasing big girls whilst not at work, sometimes it takes a day or two to get a response. Myself, i use pretty much the same baits, albeit in smaller quantities than in summer. Smaller pieces of meat etc etc.

    Bait droppers

I'm also down to my last two.....I always drill holes in the hinges in mine, and secure with a few pop rivets, that usually means the hinges stay put.
