Fox duralite for me too.
I absolutely insist on having arms on my chairs and the duralite weighs in at 3.2 kg. I suppose I could have saved a bit of weight without the arms but I’m happy to lug the extra grams for the comfort. Adjustability is minimal compared to my JRC Relaxa Recliner but...
That looks like the screw for the fulcrum that holds the ratchet spring in place. There’s also another part (the fulcrum) inside the reel. If you’ve lost both then you’re looking at someone making one up for you or buying a cheap wreck of a reel to salvage an old one. Might be worth trying Gary...
Unless they’ve made a right pig’s ear out of it then a shortened reel seat on a Speedia is unlikely to be a problem. They were originally made for cane rods with reel bands rather than Fuji reel seats and thus are usually too long for the later. I shortened one myself so it would fit a modern...
Sometimes but not all the time Richard. Quite often I will use either meat, soft paste, expander pellet, worms, sweetcorn or maggots directly mounted on the hook.
Not really seeing much in the way of hysteria. More just a general feeling that some people feel that it’s either unethical, un-sporting, ineffectual, over-priced twaddle. My thoughts are that it’s all of the above. But hysterical? Nah, I doubt I’ll get my knickers all in a twist over it. 😉
I’m not so sure he’s that good actually. Good sales require a little subtlety and nuance.
Hamidi just seems to over-egg the pudding with all the emotion and best-thing-since-sliced-bread claims.
But you are right Mark: any thinking angler with half ounce of common will see it for what it is...
Brrring…..Brrring…..Brrring……
“Hello?”
”Daniel? Mr Daniel Earl? This is Ali, from One More Cast. I’d like to offer you the position of our Chief Of Marketing. We’ll need to run an audition on your crying skills but all being well, the job is yours.”
Yes, there is tax, there is carp tax and then there is Ali tax.
Part of me can’t help wondering if Ali’s drama queen histrionics are partly born out of the sheer relief of finally having acquired a product with a USP that they can patent: every other product on the OMC site just seems to be one...
1 minute 23 seconds of that video…
“What can I make that would strike for me, whilest I’m sack back in my bivvy tucked up nice and warm….”
I absolutely fxxxing despair of angling sometimes, I really do.
These two numb nuts should also invent something that winds the fish in, photographs it...
That’s quite some list there Ian. I suspect you may have to part with some serious folding matter to tick them all off, particularly if you use the services of a book dealer.
I do have many of those myself but with the Great British Pound losing its punching power by the day, I’m holding on to...
I reached the same conclusion when I needed to replace my water proofs several years ago. At the time there was a glut of US issue Desert Storm Gore-tex on eBay. I bought one and it just keeps on going and certainly keeps me just as dry as my dog-walking Berghaus Cornice jacket. The large zip...
Excellent! Reminds me of this little gem:
I really need your advice on a serious problem:
I have suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me. The usual signs: if the phone rings and I answer, the caller hangs up; she goes out with the girls a lot. I try to stay awake to...
I recall reading recently that Temu are currently shipping orders with an average loss of $30 per order, which seems rather baffling. Never used them myself but I have used Banggood and found then to be remarkably good products and VFM.
Just looking through the fishing stuff I see that in true...
As Bob says, but I have the barbel rod which has a different code number from yours. I think the "C" in number probably denotes carp as the barbel Specialist rods are PM-XS. Also I think the barbel rods were sold as 1.5TC and 1.75TC. These are clearly 2.25.
Agreed. I love my Jap-made Shimano Stradic X reels and they seem to command a far higher price second hand now than I ever remember paying fro them new, which leads me to think I'm not the only one.
The fighting drag is almost like a manually operated baitrunner anyhow, just turn it right down...
