    Fishing a low stocked water

When you are out with the missus and a pretty young thing might just turn your head...and the good lady notices... sort of feeling?

    Fishing a low stocked water

I get it Clive, the B.A will always be home to me, well I was born next to the river in Bristol and it was the river I fished in my youth and returned to in the 1990s. I mostly fished Keynsham and Saltford and the Chew at Keynsham as a kid. Back then Barbel in the river were unheard of it was...

A non-traditional solution to my mouse dilemma at home

I don't own a cat but being rural we have a few well honed hunter felines that have helped. Their patience and one on particular I call Harley who is a beautiful multi coloured thing that rather gives him away...but he's a tryer. The feeling when your prized cork has been nibbled🗯🗯🗯

Just banter Tim...I suspect even the W.I group would have had a titter. 😏

A non-traditional solution to my mouse dilemma at home

Have an ongoing problem with mice, lately chewed through a fishing holdall, a few old landing nets and an assortment of bait. Despite trying to stop them they are super efficient in beating me. Despite this I couldn't bring myself to killing the blighters so will try the peppermint spray 😀

And the extra help came along too!

The damaged mouth thing is a blight on Angling. It puts me off visiting these fisheries, but well done in highlighting. To hand over the fishing bug to your family youngsters is a right of passage, my three sons were a delight to tag along. So many memories from carp off the top, chub from small...

Shakespeare 15' B1 Specailist float rod

My Solitude arrived at last today....but smashed carrier and broken insert guide on butt. Shame such a nice blank. Evri are USELESS.

    Rod line rating question

Andrews knots is very innovative, he brings a different approach likely from his Eastern European heritage.

Shakespeare 15' B1 Specailist float rod

Annoying, can confirm the packaging and handling is awful, hoped to get someone other than Evri for latest order from Sports Direct but, no. Mine came with the ferrule sticking out the plastic bag. And both rods had the rod bags punctured. Evri really haven't changed at all, the p&p was £9.95...

    Scales

The Flyweights are awful. Had a couple and looked inside a set that was broken and the mechanism was so crude and flimsy I was a amazed considering how popular they are including high profile anglers. For accuracy I have a set of kg Avons bought when Dr Death aka Clive S had shedloads. But they...

Shakespeare 15' B1 Specailist float rod

I dipped in again and ordered a solitude tip rod to go with the concept, better spec than the concept apparently, not sure of difference though.

    Particle baits.

If you are lucky enough to fish rivers where barbel shoal then I reckon pulses would be a cheaper and healthier alternative if prepared properly. My venues now are pretty barren with barbel and the seed approach would be fine for the chub bream etc. Personally I don't see a haired bean...

Shakespeare 15' B1 Specailist float rod

The Superteam light feeder looks a very useful rod. It is 45g casting weight with lines to 6lb, but the video blurb says can go heavier esp with braid. A 2oz lead or feeder would be fine, a good chubber? The light tip is the nearest to a light bomb rod that are rare now, ideal for smaller...

Shakespeare 15' B1 Specailist float rod

Two rods arrived today, just about unharmed by Evri despite packaging damaged. But excellent looking rods and should be a joy to use for smaller species.

Shakespeare 15' B1 Specailist float rod

I bought thanks to your heads up a couple of light quiver rods I shall probably never use to go with all the others.😄 But seriously the perfect tool for a small bomb or feeder link. Thanks.

Korum waist trotting tray, Is this a good or dumb idea?

No No No...but I might use it for my lunch break :D

What luggage bag for roaving with a float rod?

Just bought a Ultimate rucksack as the mice ruined my rather too large current bag. For just under £30 delivered its reasonable and well made. I try a variety of things to make life easier buckets, waist pouches, rucksacks, vests all have their uses and I reckon the most useful is the waist...
