Have an ongoing problem with mice, lately chewed through a fishing holdall, a few old landing nets and an assortment of bait. Despite trying to stop them they are super efficient in beating me. Despite this I couldn't bring myself to killing the blighters so will try the peppermint spray 😀

If you are lucky enough to fish rivers where barbel shoal then I reckon pulses would be a cheaper and healthier alternative if prepared properly. My venues now are pretty barren with barbel and the seed approach would be fine for the chub bream etc. Personally I don't see a haired bean...

Two rods arrived today, just about unharmed by Evri despite packaging damaged. But excellent looking rods and should be a joy to use for smaller species.
