Hi Rob,
Would you mind measuring the 36 net arm to arm when it is 'pinched' In please. Basically the width when it's attached to the spreader (in use).
Thanks.
Steve
Hi Richard,
First outing with the XP today and have to say it's a lot heavier than I thought (balanced with a centrepin).
I'm used to a 13footer so the extra foot doesn't help but finding it tiring.
May have to move it on......🙄
This is the model
I'm planning to fish this method a lot more this coming season. Not really used it since the glory days on the Kennet back in the 90's. Had one go on the Loddon so far this season and found my 11 foot 1.5tc Free Spirit perfect for the job.
Interesting what some are saying about the line should...
Definately rescue the 10' 6" Vortex that my dad bought me in approx 1975 for 4 quid. Bends like an elastic band, not been used for at least 40 years but priceless to me.
Apart from that, my Drennan IM9 Classic 😁
Be interested to hear how you get on with the Spectron as I've recently got one.
My go to 'fish for anything' trotting rod has been the Drennan IM9 Classic for many years..........best rod I've probably ever owned but the extra foot on the Diawa could help.
Roll on the Autumn 😁
Many thanks for your advice David. I've been on a few charters but haven't really learned a lot (probably because of the skippers) but I'm after something more personal.
Just feel I'm treading water really.
Steve
After a few poor efforts at inshore boat angling, I'm wondering if anyone could
recommend a guide on the south coast that would take me out and show me the ropes. Willing to travel anywhere between Sussex and Dorset.
I've used a few different ones over the years but I love my Okuma Sheffield for trotting. Watched the late great Keith Speer work his magic with one on a few occasions and knew I had to have one.
RIP Keith.
I had the Nash mini sides on a nubrolli. Think they just covered 2 ribs but served me very well doing overnighters on my flashy (then) Lafuma bedchair 😁
