How bizarre. I’ve not seen one like that before. The collet looks to be made from some sort of resin type material maybe fiberglass…??? It looks more substantial than the grey plastic versions and probably the reason it wasn’t intended for replacement.
The locking collar is a new one for me...
I put the made up rod into an adjustable padded sleeve which then goes into a protector quiver with a hard encapsulation part on the top. It would take quite a force to break it. The socks simply keep the sections together
I’ve got several of those but i wouldn’t let them near a float rod Chris. That plastic buckle you pass the tag through is way too close to my tiny tip guides.
Great for the barbel and specialist rods though
Just seen the bottom part of your message sorry.
I don’t have any acolyte ones to spare I’m afraid mate but if cash is good enough I’d happily buy them if they are of no use to you.
I’m not trying to cheap skate some either as I will happily pay the original price for them when new at £11 a set.
Brilliant poles mine was the same version had it 11 years but I gave it away before to a member on here while it still had some life in it
The newer ones I’ve had 2 years now and they are every bit as good. I particularly like the frosted finish right at the back for grip and the graphics stay...

I’m interested in knowing what the blanks are or where they might be sourced. I’m sure we’ll know soon enough.
Like every thing that’s brilliant drennan have knocked these on the head and bought out a replacement that is nothing like them.
Anyone got some they would flog me or suggest an alternative that is similar
No plastic loops or draw strings no elastic straps just a neoprene set preferably snug...
It’s just the time of year i think Graham.
I had to stick my kingpin on eBay to sell it and come down on my price slightly.
I reckon a couple of months ago your rod would of been snatched at
I’d happily drive a couple hours for a rod of half the value of that one. I did it the other week to meet Alan and take his lovely speccy away quickly before he changed his mind 😂
Have you looked at the distance Steven? Leicester to Ross on wye is only a couple hours drive.
A rare expensive rod like that is definitely worth a half day trip out and back and I’m sure you’ll get a brew at the other end.
Not worth the risk posting such a valuable irreplaceable rod when...
