Come on chaps take this seriously. As a flask novice, I am most concerned there is very little information being provided. I need to know will the handle fit large or small fingers? what's the flask capacity? Whats the cup to flask ratio? will the flask fit into my bag? Do I need a new bag? If...
The main issue in my posting was to do with local stores all being closed when they had advertised they were open. All had websites so to a degree had embraced the Internet but couldn't be bothered to keep that updated. If they do little trade late in the day and wish to close then fine. I have...
I know there have been numerous threads about this in the past, but I thought I would share my experience yesterday when I genuinely set out to support my local angling store rather than be lazy and use the internet;
To cut a long story short, I wanted a replacement baitcaster reel; not a...
Hinders? Outstanding, placed an order at 11pm, had a message the next working day to say it had been despatched and it duly arrived an hour or so after receiving the message saying it was on its way!
The problem is the total lack of regulation. To make them more effective, the EA need formal powers over clubs to bring them all into line for example; only issue a day ticket or annual membership to those with a valid rod licence, review different bye laws, regulations, open seasons etc etc...
I have never been challenged by an EA bailiff, but have been regularly challenged by my club bailiffs, including at the most far flung waters that they have (and long may that continue). However, the latter never ask to see my licence, only my membership card. On many occasions, (and more so in...
14mm pellet! I bet that would have caused some case of indigestion...I suppose that's where the "Gob" in Gobio comes from. It's so big they named it twice!
Steve - the bait looks bigger than the Gudgeon!....chub in disguise perhaps?
Mike - I understand they are migratory and may well have left your area and made their way over the winter to spawn in their usual grounds, i.e. the Warks Arrow. Research shows they prefer a river bed littered with...
Having been out in the past few days on my local stretch of the Arrow and not blanking only due to the humble Gudgeon being in a feeding frenzy, I thought it worthy of expressing my thanks and honouring them with a new thread. Sorry no photos, it was far too cold and all were returned...
A belated hello to all from me too. Thanks to all involved in setting up the new site, it already looks and feels much better and I hopefully I can meet some of you too at a future "fish in" if I can get permission from my boss, "Lady Taylor"...
Sadly less fishing than I would have liked in 2009 and I hope to put this right in 2010.
My best day of the season so far was not Barbel related, nor PB related, however after a short 2-3hr roving stint on the Worcs Arrow I managed 8 fish and every one of a different species.
I am similar to Steve, i.e. with two rods using different baits at the same time. I usually switch back to one rod when I have determined which bait is the favoured one. In my experience double hook ups are rare, however, it is also helpful if you have someone in the next swim to help you out if...
