FISHING BEACH SHELTER BIVVI TENT 7ft wide with groundsheet carrybag quick erect | eBay
Got me thinking - only 2lb in weight so easy and light to carry - must be strong enough to face some of the stronger winds that you can get on the beach.
And very cheap - looking...
brolly
Thanks Chris
Thats what my searching came up with - wanted (for when the rain comes at different angles and i am bedded in for the day) a wrap to overlay the brolly that i could keep in my ruck bag - guess it's not gonna happen (manufacturers take note)
Guys
looking to get either a new 50 inch brolly or if they make them - an overwrap/storm cover for a normal 45inch brolly (but not the type that zip on as my brolly does not have a zip!)
Do they make overwraps that wrap over the centre cover on top of the brolly and then down to the floor...
Hi Dave
Brilliant post from you mate - so glad to hear your recovering - my dad had a very heavy stroke some 9 yrs ago - cannot walk or even stand now - so glad you can still enjoy that lovely stretch that got me my first barbel after 4 years or trying :D
You know i am only a couple of miles...
Cheers Rob - have been wondering but didn't want to push you again.
Pass on my regards.
Is he still in the same place or have they moved him for specialist rehabilitation as yet? - they work them hard in those units - my dad was the same - that will explain tiredness.
Best Wishes.
Chris
Dave M taught me all about the near bank approach - but I think it probably depends on the rivers you fish - the Teme/Nidd/Dane etc are smaller quieter rivers (normally) so nearside tactics are essential - often moving after 1 or 2 fish but with Ribble/Wye/Severn/Trent etc then I guess...
Another thank god for the wye!
Although I am looking at more local rivers given the cost of fuel.
A new PB from the Wye 10lb 11oz - very happy.
But just like my headstone will say...........Here lies Chris because he didn't fish enough!
Still hoping for a Ribble Barb before end of...
Just bought a pair of snowbee waders - the botoms are part felt/cleated heel. Some of the banks (before entering the river) will be leathel on the felt sole so I was thinking of adding the wading studs to the felt bottom.
The waders have now arrived and a friend says he has read that studs...
Thanks Keith.
Great fish welfare work above and veryinteresting re jigs.
So to take this discussion onwards......
I can see how people cure boilies etc - how would we go about trying to add salt (or the taste of) to pellets?
I was thinking of possibly (depending on the oil content of...
 Keith - I have had salt in a wound. Are you being serious in that it would be ok to pour salt and a fish wound? if so do you rub it in? I would have thought rock salt would have been too abbrasive.
Anthony - think that is possibly due to the water/run off generally being cold and also "extra" things are added to road salt (that are not good for fish - I read an article by Kevin Nash which went as far as to say it was possibly poisonous for them) and all other matters from the road being...
Interesting - have you tried them or salt for the Barbs yet Mark?
Also any idea where I could get the salt reactions from - don't seem to be in stock yet
Read an article (couple of years old or so) yesterday about the attempts to increase the need of urge to feed in barbel (and prob other fish) in colder/winter weather.
One suggestion of adding rock salt to your bait - now i searched and found the old thread about adding rock salt to cure...
