Lake weed - "harrowing" to remove
Hi Folks,
I've just heard that a local sailing club are going to remove the weed in a lake i fish by 'harrowing.' Having no idea of what this was, i went on to the Royal Yachting Assoication website below...
I know what you mean! In reality, i nearly always have elaborate plans for tackling numerous species, but then work always manages to find one way or another to disrupt them...
I've got three of these on my bream / tench rods. I also used them once on the Tidal Trent just as an experiment. Caught lots of bream and a barbel on the Trent and they performed well.
I have caught lots of bream and tench into double figures on them and they have
performed well. I did have...
Hi,
I've got the Sheffield, and it is very good. But I also have had great success with the Marco Cortesi!
Never had the problem Keith's mentioned, but i'll look out for it in the future.
Cheers
Tim
I think the chub thread on here is about as close as you will get!! I just don't think they're popular enough season long to generate enough interest
Merry Christmas,
Tim
I had an abu folding pan net until Thursday last week. Was a great concept, but the arms were not strong enough and constantly bent. It all became too much for them, and one snapped just above the spreader whilst a 4lb chub was being landed.
Cheers,
Tim
Hello one and all,
Apologies for being slow t0 respond to the PMs i've had, things have been a little hectic.
As you will have read from my original post, our plan was to try and build the social bond between different multi species groups. There was a lot of interest ealry on, but...
In felines, a lion / tiger cross differs greatly depending on who species is the father. The offspring is either a liger or tiglon. Maybe the same is true with fish?
Hi Chris,
I too have read of the success of prawns, but when i've tried them on commercials it has always been the carp that got there first.
I'll try again this winter.
Cheers,
Tim
Very interesting guys. I've had a look back at some pictures of barbel from the Great Ouse and the Wye for comparison. Although there were a couple of WYe fish with the damage, the percentage of fish with the damage on the Ouse was considerably greater. Don't know what this means, but am open to...
Jusr got this reply lads from the EA;
Dear Tim
Thank you for your email regarding the new river and sea levels information on our website.
Our river and sea level information is currently unavailable due to a technical issue. We have identified the problem and are currently working...
The JRC one was called the Bank Mate. I had one. Several season's use ended this winter when it fell to bits. It's not made any more, so i'm looking for a new one too!
I have fished the Loire and Indre (region 37) around Tours and have caught pleny of barbel. I baited up with Vitalin and caught them on standard feeder gear using corn as bait. As for location, i just used the same water craft as back home.
Cheers,
Tim
