Cobbled together?
What exactly do you mean? Its a Thesis for a PhD so has to demonstrate that she has studied all available data and previous research, which appertains to her own area of research, hence ,the exhaustive references made throughout the body of the thesis.
I've not read the...
That's a very sad story Keith and one which we should all take heed of.
Your tips regarding what to do should you fall in are excellent and again, something to pay attention too.
I remember Hugh Faulkus demonstrating the same technique you speak of in that excellent programme Salmo the...
Wow, this thread is still going strong! Dying on it's backside, obviously not with 229 posts on this thread alone.
Me being a newbie to this forum I find it a bit hard to understand what this is all about. However, my observations, having just read from post one is that some people hanker for...
I initially considered getting Chimera barbel rods solely based on having used Chimera carp rods for a good few years and loving them to bits.
I'm so glad my rod builder persuaded me to go for the Torrix though as they are superb rods, fabulous action and a real pleasure to use.
Strewth Martin....have you any idea how many of this lot will now be haunting your swims in wet suits
Not really worth the risk David, too many 3/4 ounce feeders packed with goodies flying around to make salvage a viable option

IMO, rolling your own baits gives you the opportunity to add your own favourite bits and bobs to the mix and the ability to chop and change whenever you feel the need. Added to that, there is definitely a sense of satisfaction to be had when catching on your own baits.
Having said that...
This one is a bit longer closed than you're looking for but still a very good handle and extends to 10ft

I'm a member of the Albert fan club as well Neil, old school not like some of the present crop.
In about 30 or 40 years time even the youngest of the present crop will be known as old school :D
As for salt in baits, I've used it for carp for years, a great dollop in the spod mix has always...
I friend of mine once caught two big cats using pop up fake bread!
He used large PVA mesh bags full of liquidised bread and fished the fake bread over the top.
His take on it was that the liquidised attracted the roach , which attracted the cats. Whatever, it worked for him as I think...
