Echoing Richard’s sentiments and as far as I’m aware, the wait is at least 3-4 years, a friend of mine who is outside NG postcode has been on the list for nearly 5. I’m on the waiting list myself, and having fished a fair few times as a guest, there are lots of friendly members about.

I’ve fished the soar for 30 years, the last 20 specifically for the barbel. There are fish there, but not in any numbers anymore. I’ve fished around 30 short daytime sessions in the last 2 years and have had 2 barbel, one around 7lb the other was 13.4! Take from that what you will!

I have all the acolytes in 14ft length, plus a matchpro in 14ft for silvers. I was rushing in my original post admittedly. I’m after a stepped up/power rod for big grayling in fast water. Ideally an older rod with full cork handle, something like the daiwa spectron or connoisseur
